Judge Kim Cooks in the 255th Family District Court ruled today that seven-year-old James Younger and his twin brother would remain under a joint managing conservatorship under their parents, Jeff Younger and Anne Georgulas.
Cooks also gave the two parents joint decision making over all medical, dental, and psychiatric care for the twin boys, indicating that both the father and mother need to consent to the use of puberty blockers or other aspects of a “medical transition.”
Attorney fees are split.
Cooks also issued a gag order on the father.

Best solution is for the CPS to temporarily protect the child, then bring in court psychologists to determine any signs of abuse, and what the child really wants. Away from control by the parents, either parent, the truth will out.
Plus, crazy mom and her crazy friends won’t be able to take him out of state for some quick snip snip.

No, you do not ask a 7 year old what they want. You give them counseling to overcome the damage caused by the mom since age 3. You don’t even ask a 7 year old what should be on the menu for dinner that night.

NO PARENT should be able to make such a life-altering irreversible decision on a minor child unless the child’s health/safety was at stake. Decisions like this should be made by the child when they are of adult age and can understand the consequences.
This is insane. I fear the mother is manipulating and confusing James. Please pray that a responsible adult steps up and protects his well-being.
Courts don’t always solve disputes, sometimes they make the problem worse.
This is why lawyers almost always prefer to settle disputes out of court. It’s not just because it’s easier, but the outcome is more predictable and controllable. When you go to court or go to trial, you could end up with nothing. Or you could end up with a bigger headache than when you started.
Asking the 7 year old what they want is an indirect way of getting them to provide information about their parents.
The trick is not to ask them directly about what their parents have said or done, but to justify what they say they want with what their parents have said or done.
Since nothing they say is directly evidentiary, it is just to give you leads to follow up with others.
