Jessica Cameron, the victim of an alleged attempted murder by her ex-boyfriend, described the harrowing incident last December on the witness stand on Thursday.
Cameron, 25, said on the stand that Jonathan White asked her to come to a dumpster behind the Tim Horton’s restaurant on December 17 to talk about their struggling 7-and-a-half-year relationship that was crumbling. The two had three young children together, ages five, three, and two.
“He refused to acknowledge it and accept it,” she said about their relationship.
The argument at the dumpster soon turned violent.
“Are you going to hurt me?” Cameron said on the stand in reference to her encounter with White. “He said yes...I didn’t think he was actually going to hurt me.”
She said White poured gasoline from an apple juice container onto her head. When Cameron panicked and turned around, she was suddenly surrounded by flames after White put a lighter to her.

A man’s attacking his estranged girlfriend is unfortunately all too ordinary.
This case is in NY. Guy is charged with 2nd degree Attempted Murder and lesser offenses. How can it be second degree? He just happened to lure her to an obscure location, just happened to have an apple juice jar of gasoline with him? This was deliberate and premeditated — he should hang for it. May he get actual justice inside prison.

There was a whole lot more loving and a whole lot less violence back in the day when marriage was considered a lifetime commitment and the hook-up culture was shunned.
I agree. I often tell my own children that once they have a child with another person, they are stuck with that person in their life forever. “Wrong and stupid, stupid and wrong ...”.
He needs to be slow cooked.
There is nothing about this that is her fault.
No, it’s not her fault. It’s just an external observation about a situation that’s a disaster in so many ways that it’s hard to formulate any response.
He should have capital punishment.
And probably tortured before then.
