What is the role of a parent?

Child: May I play in the street?
Conservative parent: No, it’s too dangerous to play in the street.
Liberal parent: No, it’s too dangerous to play in the street.

Child: May I stay up past my bedtime?
Conservative parent: No, you need your rest to grow strong and healthy.
Liberal parent: No, you need your rest to grow strong and healthy.

Child: May I play outside after dark?
Conservative parent: No, it’s not safe to play outside after dark.
Liberal parent: No, it’s not safe to play outside after dark.

Child: May I have candy for breakfast?
Conservative parent: No, you cannot.
Liberal parent: No, you cannot.

Child: May I drive the car?
Conservative parent: No, not until you’re older.
Liberal parent: No, not until you’re older.

Child: May I smoke a cigarette?
Conservative parent: No, it’s not healthy for you.
Liberal parent: No, it’s not healthy for you.

Child: Do I need to fear the dark?
Conservative parent: No, there is no need to fear the dark.
Liberal parent: No, there is no need to fear the dark.

Child: May I watch whatever I want on television?
Conservative parent: No, you may only watch what I allow.
Liberal parent: No, you may only watch what I allow.

Child: May I stay home from school and play?
Conservative parent: No, you must go to school.
Liberal parent: No, you must go to school.

Child: May I change my sex?

Conservative parent: No, of course not. Between DNA and GOD your sex was determined before you were even born. But I’m curious; are you not happy with whom you are?

Liberal parent: Yes, of course. I understand there are many from which to select. Which have you selected?

Does the parent still play the most important role in their child's life or does society?

Good question. It’s shocking that we , as a society, apparently have embraced all this transsexual business, even with children.

God gives children to their parent, not the state.

I get in a lot of trouble on this site for my very steadfast view on parenting. When people complain (even here) about bad choices made by parents, my response is typically this: It’s none of my business. It’s not my kid.

The problem is that I get in trouble with both liberals and some some conservatives here. Thing is, Changing a kid’s sex before he’s reached puberty is so stupid, that it’s even stupider than changing his sex AFTER puberty. But it’s none of my business. Not my kid.

It’s the father’s business.

Yes. In a case like this one I firmly agree that the father has a say.

I’m speaking holistically.

If the state is going to determine how a child is raised, then the parent(s) are no longer responsible. The state has already determined that they will determine what child will live or die.

The state can feed, clothe and educate/medicate the child. No child care, no alimony, nothing by the father. The mother can go live in a government enclave.

Harsh? Sure, but it’s not my kid.

Remember a few years back... “It Takes A Village to Raise a Child” That’s all you need to know about the left. From womb to tomb, they want complete and total control. As soon as you inquire about conversion therapy or the like you will be investigated and potentially have your child(ren) taken away for neglect. Slick Willy even stated that as POTUS he was the parent of the nations children.
