The Houston Astros entered the top of the ninth inning Saturday night Game 6 of the ALCS with a 4-2 lead, only to have the New York Yankees tie the score thanks to a two-run home run from D.J. LaMahieu. But in the bottom half of the inning, with two outs and George Springer on first base, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve stepped to the plate and sent the 2-1 offering from Aroldis Chapman over the left field wall. The 5-foot-6 Venezuelans walk-off home run advanced the Astros in dramatic style.

And the first thing the 29-year-old Altuve did after sending the Astros to their second World Series in three years was give glory to God.
First, I want to thank God and all the fans for the beautiful game, for the beautiful playoffs, he told FOXs Ken Rosenthal. Altuve later added, Running around the bases, the only thing I was thinking was thanking God and just thinking that were going to the World Series once again.

In true Jose Altuve form...first thing he said in his presser was to give George Springer credit for the walk.
Where does that moment rank? At the top. “We’re not going to the World Series because of me. We’re going to the World Series because of every guy in that clubhouse.”
I’m a Yankees fan since the days of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. But I love Altuve. The Astros deserved the win. I often think how hard he has had to prove himself because of his height say compared to 6’5” Judge. But Altuve has the heart of a giant
A lot of people thought whatever the Yankees pitcher was doing was a sign of respect. I have no idea what they were talking about..maybe a subtle gesture to the guy who just hit a home run off his pitch.
Coming home he protected his jersey, later he said when it was ripped apart in an earlier game , his wife did not like it and he protected it
That is a reverent man to God family and team
I read that Aaron Judge is 6’7” and just shy of 300 pounds. I also read that he was adopted on the day that he was born and is not shy to say that he is a Christian.
There was a moment when Judge was on second base with Altuve and they were having some friendly conversations. Pretty cool.
Heard yesterday that MLB is going to start paring the minor league clubs with one of the reasons these GREAT Latino players with their own countries holding schools/camps for prospective MLB players.
Nationals have two of them, 20 yo Juan Soto and 21 year old Victor Robles.....each very poised for young players and Soto has the patience of Job at the plate.
The Major Leagues sign them ‘cheap’ (A LOT TO THEM) when 15 or so then if they make it the ‘own’ them for a few years.
One way out of poverty......THEN AGAIN, seeing how these guys are quick to praise God when they do well, respect the US National Anthem and the Flag, heap praise on their teammates and coaches etc etc ..
Watch the LIBs tighten up on allowing them into the country for having to many manners and respect.
These Latino players have helped make baseball great. So much better than some of the trash playing for NFL.
LMAO!
Perfect!
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Judges Twitter says Christian, faith, family then baseball.
