A careful monitoring of the media today confirms that Rep. Cummings died from "complications arising from long-standing ill health."
As you wouldn't accept that as a cause of death for a loved one, as a life insurance underwriter would never accept those words to approve a payout, and as a police detective would never accept those inappropriate and vague words from a coroner... What do they mean?
"complications arising from long-standing ill health." Like Napoleon? Al Capone? Lenin? Lincoln?
Just wondering.
Our revered hero who did everything - made so many friends, spoke out, was so corurageous, crossed the aisle, helped people of color according to all the whites in congress - basically did everything but improve the lives of the people he represented...
Why did he die?
You’re right. I hadn’t even thought about medications. He obviously wasn’t in full control of his faculties to begin with...he was born that way. Back in August he claimed someone tried to break into his house. Never heard anything more about that. Now that he’s dead, I wonder what the chances are that someone in his neighborhood will take advantage of the place possibly being empty during his wake and funeral.
Congressmen cannot be appointed by a governor. The governor has already signed a warrant for a special election to replace Cummings.
No Hospice care. From the reports I’ve read, he went in for a procedure back in September and something happened.
Why do these jerks think it is OK to never report to the job for which you are paid...
sometimes people get sick or have surgery and come back too work.
The issue was when would he be able to work? Not that he missed some work.
Governor Hogan cannot appoint the replacement for Cummings. Governors can only appoint a vacated Senate seat.
Cummings' House seat will remain vacant until a special election is held.
might be one of the three mayors of baltimore who resigned in disgrace. Perfect democrats.
I have no idea what he died from but I have some socialist cousins that seem heart broken. They say he was a good man and got so much done to better this country.
I try not to get in political arguments with relatives, but am tired of biting my tongue on this. I really want to ask how was he a good man and just what did he accomplish?
“”Good point...he wasnt that old...so lets conjuncture something up! Moon beams? Hillary? Cow farts??””
How about - just a hate filled demonrat!!! Hate will twist a person’s mind and body!
Was he “clintonized?”
why does it only infect men?
Well... that really depends on his lifestyle throughout his life. Not the last 4 or 5 years. All kinds of activities can take years off a lifespan such as smoking, drinking, doing street drugs, and even some pharmaceutical prescribed drugs. Stress is not handled equally by everyone and it sounds like he had gout and a failed knee replacement which could have gone septic in his body. In some of the pictures I've seen of him in the last 2 years; he looks really sickly.
Then again some people just die young. Athletic kids in high school, the military, and college drop dead from heart attacks and strokes. When our number is up; it's up I guess. God calls us all home eventually. Of course some, like this guy, may be going somewhere else but that's another story and not one we can verify.

My warmest condolences to the family and many friends of Congressman Elijah Cummings. I got to see first hand the strength, passion and wisdom of this highly respected political leader. His work and voice on so many fronts will be very hard, if not impossible, to replace!"
“...Per Rush:On his death bed he was signing subpoenas to impeach trump.
Glad he is gone....”
Don’t worry. Some other SOB will pick up the torch and continue the madness.
He dies from a rat bite.
Folks do not know how true this is about Cummings. I did. That is why you will see many posts from me about this man. Research them. When will people wake up? I guess never.
Naw, theyll blame stress caused by Trumps supposed belittling him over Baltimores deplorable condition.
Smart thinking on your part. I have two replacements and I regret it. One was 3 years ago and it still hurts plus they both buckle on occasion. I should have accepted the pain from keeping them. Oh well!
That I do not know, but I have heard that is the case from a medical rep or two.
Perhaps it does also affect women, but I have heard this is a primary concern for men.
I was reading about it here-

Diabetes is one of the factors, so no knee surgery for me. I’m walking around on noodle knees until I leave this rock.
And actually I’m going to theorize that perhaps it may just be because a man may be more likely to have this surgery, and therefore just by odds contracts the infection at a greater rate.
To 36......I vote we take a vote on this possibility!!!!
