During the Democrat debate last night, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren said she would force Americans to fund abortions, adding that young people and poor people need to be able to have access to killing their children.
On Roe v. Wade, can we just pause for a minute here. I lived in an America where abortion was illegal. And rich women still got abortions What were talking about now is that the people who are denied access to abortion are the poor, are the young, she said.
This is not the first time Warren has said Americans should be forced to fund abortions for poor women.
The Massachusetts senator and 2020 presidential candidate said she would work to end the Hyde Amendment if elected. The Hyde Amendment prohibits taxpayer-funded elective abortions in Medicaid. It has had strong bipartisan support for years, and continues to have strong support from voters. But the abortion industry and Democratic Party now want it gone, and many presidential hopefuls do, too.
Warren then falsely claimed that three out of four Americans support Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court case that essentially allowed abortions up to birth.
But that is demonstrably false.
A January national poll conducted by Marist University found an overwhelming majority of Americans support restrictions on abortion and would like Roe v. Wade reinterpreted to allow restrictions on abortions.
Three in four Americans (75 percent) say abortion should be limited to at most the first three months of pregnancy. This includes most of those who identify as Republicans (92 percent), Independents (78 percent) and a majority of Democrats (60 percent). It also includes more than six in 10 (61 percent) who identify as pro-choice on abortion.
The strong support for restricting abortion came despite the fact that a majority of Americans identify as pro-choice (55 percent) making it clear that the terms pro-choice and pro-life are not accurate in determining or representing the actual views of Americans on abortion.
The poll also found that a strong majority of Americans disagree with the Roe v. Wade decision that gives states the ability to allow abortions up to birth without any limits.
Almost two-thirds of Americans (65 percent) also say that if the Supreme Court revisits Roe v. Wade then the Court should rule either to allow restrictions as decided by each state (49 percent), or to outlaw abortion (16 percent). Fewer than a third of Americans (30 percent) would want the Court to rule to allow unrestricted abortion.
Gallup, for example, polls on similar questions every year. Its latest poll, released in June, found that 60 percent of Americans want all (21 percent) or almost all (39 percent) abortions made illegal. In contrast, 38 percent said they want all (25 percent) or almost all (13 percent) abortions legal.
Other polls align with the Gallup findings. In the spring, a Hill-HarrisX survey found that 55 percent of voters said they do not think heartbeat laws are too restrictive even though they would ban almost all abortions, according to The Hill.
Similarly, a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that just 6 percent of Americans said abortions should be allowed up until the birth of the child.
Meanwhile, another 2019 abortion poll found 58% of Americans want all or almost all abortions made illegal.
A poll conducted by the Morning Consult research firm finds most Americans want abortions to be made illegal either in all cases or in very rare cases such as rape or incest or win the pregnancy directly threatens the life of the mother. Those cases constitute less than 2 or 3% of all abortions, meaning that most Americans support making virtually all abortions illegal.
Disgusting.....truly demonic evil forces working overtime.
“I shoot blanks”, and the dr. said so, too, so’s I ain’t payin’ for some manjack’ “shooting bullets”!
Unbelievable......
How about us paying for birth control pills or an IUD? Oh no, that’s too much trouble for women. Much easier to just go get the fetus murdered.
Actually in a lot of states we already do. In most states a woman may go to her local health dept. and get birth control pills for free. Same for condoms as well.
There is just big money in abortion in both the selling of the actual abortion and the baby parts.
How about ADOPTION?
Elizabeth Warren said she would force Americans to commit murder.
I wonder how much of a leap it is from forcing people to pay for abortions to forcing people to have abortions...
I think it is a small step.
Margret Sanger would be proud.
Adoption is after they get pregnant. You see most of them are using abortion as a birth control instead of using birth control. Even Norma McCorvey was shocked by this when she was still pro choice and working at an abortion clinic. She was appalled to see women “thank her after having 6 abortions”. Norma said she could understand 1 maybe 2 but 6? She said this was not the reason abortion was made legal, it was not to be a form of birth control.
I would rather set up a system where the po get paid to voluntarily get sterilized
I’ll ask an aperrently stupid question. Why do women want abortions so much?
Democrats love to murder babies. It is a sacrament in their anti-Christian religion. Let us hope that no so-called church will officiate at the funerals of politicians who clearly do not follow the teachings of Jesus.
Democrats sure do love using force to get people to comply to their sick and twisted world view.
How about a GoFundMe for her post birth abortion. She can become a martyr and help save the planet with one less parasite.
She means minorities.
Elizabeth Warren wants to kill minority babies.
So there has been public funding of contraception (at the very least, condoms and oral contraceptives) for over 50 years, at least for those with means-based eligibility. And that has only grown, for instance with the availability of free contraceptives in college and university health services, as well as many high schools.
Oh: and as for "voluntary sterilization": why would anyone do that? When offered, that has never been a popular option, anywhere. whether for males or for females.
Welcome to reality.
All of this grew in scope even as abortion rates were climbing. It may be counter-intuitive, but there is not a reliable fall in out-of-wedlock births and abortion, when there is a rise of contraceptive availability and acceptance. You might think there would be, but there is not.
I could discuss why, but it's almost 10:30 and I'm going to bed. Ping me if you want to know.
And, pray tell, how are we supposed to explain on Judgement Day why we were willing to pay hit men to murder babies God Himself had just sent here?
Does this have anything to do with the $45 Million Plan Parenthood is spending on this election?
