Who plays video games with an 8yr old at 2:30 in the morning? What the hell was wrong with her?
Why would anyone want to go into law enforcement in the US anymore, when they charge you with murder for a mistake? A horrible mistake, but still a mistake, not murder.

They were all his choices.
He chose his line of work.
He chose to pull the trigger.
He chose not to follow protocol when approaching the house.
From now on, he will have very few choices to make.
The prosecutor will make his decisions.
The jury will make his decisions.
The prison staff will make his decisions.
YES! Blame her! How dare she leave her door open! Why wasn't she barefoot and pregnant making me a sandwich? Why wasn't she wearing a burka?
That's what you get out of this? What is it of yours what she was doing in her house?
A horrible mistake, but still a mistake, not murder.
He killed her. Like you or I, he will get his chance to plead his case to a jury, or plea bargain with the prosecutor. If he cannot show that he was somehow justified in pulling the trigger, he will pay a price just like you or I.
It is unfortunate that race baiters will make a circus of the trial, but at least he gets a trial, unlike his victim.

I was wondering when some slimeball was going to show up and go to bat for the killer by attacking the victim.
No one I know of.
Anyone who does that must be sketchy.
Sketchy folks are a danger.
Dangerous people should probably be shot, even inside their houses.
/S!
C'mon, Bullish. You've been around here since '98. Are you a holster smoocher? Please do an attitude check and post again.
Sorry that you cannot see what happened from the body cam.
The officer was reckless and is a danger to the public.
He chose to shoot with no legal or moral reason to do so. She was just a target.
damn ,,,you’re a real ass kisser ,,,does it taste good ,or someone just stepped on your toes ,,,,,
Writes the FReeper who doesn't feel like waiting for some facts regarding the shooting
What's next? You seem to be implying that she was doing something wrong by playing video games at 2:30 Am - in her own home.
Unbelievable.
A horrible mistake, but still a mistake, not murder.
He intended to pull the trigger. Under Texas law thats murder. Dont matter if it was a year or 1/10th of a second. He deliberately shot her without any legal justification. She died.
Thats murder.
L
That’s what you are going to focus on?
Maybe your family will be next.

Im sorry, is there a mandatory lights-out time?
Then why did he immediately move the body cam to the left before he fired?
So what time do I need to turn out the lights tonight in my own home? Where is the rule book?
Yours is one of the dumbest comments I have ever read here.
Last time I checked, this is still a free country. If you want to play video games in the middle of the night in your own home, it is not a crime. Maybe her nephew couldn't sleep. When I can't sleep, I sometimes get up and play solitaire on my computer to get sleepy. Whatever the reason, she didn't deserve to die for doing nothing illegal in her own house.
Why would you think there was something "wrong" with her? She didn't do anything wrong. The cop did.
These cops were supposed to be checking on her welfare because a neighbor called and was concerned.
Shooting her dead through an open window without ever knocking on the door to check to see if everything was okay, is not a welfare check, it is murder.
Maybe 2nd degree murder or even voluntary manslaughter. But they failed to do their job properly and this poor woman is dead because of it.
Don't try to place the blame on the innocent woman. The cop was the one with the gun and he killed her. What was wrong with HIM?
Can I show up in YOUR house and SHOOT you for no reason? Then use a bunch of unrelated information to justify it ? COP NEED TO SERVE. COPS NEED TO PROTECT. COPS ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. PULL THE TRIGGER GET THE FULL CONSEQUENCES.
Maybe She worked nights or it was the Nephews Birthday. Maybe they were just really absorbed and time flew by. There is no Law saying that you cannot play video games in the middle of the night in your own house or any other private location.
A horrible mistake, but still a mistake, not murder.
If it was a Civilian Joe or Jane Public would have made that shot would You be saying a Mistake was made ?
If it was Your Aunt, Mother, Wife, Sister or Daughter would it still be a Mistake ?
Im thinking probably not.
And for all the Posts talking about Ms. Atatiana Jefferson having a Pistol and CCW/CHL that is irrelevant (especially in Texas) unless She was a convicted felon She was well within Her Rights to be armed in Her own house and property even without a CCW/CHL. In fact if She had shot the cop it couldve very well have been covered by the Castle Doctrine in Texas.
