Wow, what a bunch of hard cases we have this evening. As one of the posters said in a comment above, the passengers would not agree that her actions were not heroic.
** I wonder what the common folk are doing today**
I think the first time I ever heard that line was a few days after Christmas 1975, on what was certainly the only high dollar vacation my parents took us kids on. My dad uttered it while we sat in the shade, on a beach at Eluthera Island in the Bahamas (we also went to Exuma island on the same trip). Made possible by way of my dad’s employer’s C310k.
Our family’s vacations usually amounted to flying from Mercer County, IL, to Corry, PA; to see my Dad’s folks and kin. In the late 50s by TriPacer; the early 60s by Comanche; the late 60s by C310. I got so familiar at being a navigator on that route, that by the time I was a teenager, I could have guided you there, day or night VFR, without charts.
Some fun memories through it all.
I don’t think the passengers would care either way. Just like with Sully.
Possibly. My thinking is passengers, those not working as an aviator, those passengers remind me of the average Joe and Jane Smuck standing in the TSA line, commending in how wonderful security is because look at all the stuff they are going. I feel so secure.
Kabuki dancing going on and because they dont understand how silly TSA is, they confuse actually doing something vs looking like something is being done. Sort of like that when it come to passengers thinking some pilot is heroic because he did something.
Sully did something actually beyond his training and truly did something heroic.
Theres nothing heroic about saving a wounded aircraft, its purely a matter of self-preservation. Their primary motivation is saving their own bacon. If you also save the pax and get a movie deal in the bargain, thats just gravy.
A male pilot wouldn’t have landed a movie/book deal for this incident.
Never Trump Sell-out Sully already cornered that market.
“Sully did something actually beyond his training and truly did something heroic.”
LOL, I’ve seen MANY here over the years disagree with that statement, but the piece of obama earned MY “respect” with this:

“Many” disagree. . .like who? Armchair fat-boys that spew on subjects they don’t know about (LOL).
Doubtful they are accomplished aviators, and likely never been shot-at, as well as feel a 45-degree banked turn is “acro.”
Anyone who flew jets and was ever is a position where their life and the lives of many others depended on their skills, skills that are not practiced in real life, those guys never would say anything denigrating Sully and his handling of the situation.
I know Sully, been involved with him in a few public events. Great guy. Skilled pilot flying a powered jet and all of a sudden becomes a glider pilot and flawlessly ditches a jet in the water, a maneuver that is known to be darned near impossible.
What he said about Trumps policy, like most people, if he stays in his lane he is great, good and respected. If he never said anything, like many of us told him to do, that would have been the proper thing to do.
As it is said; “Shut up and sing.” In this case, it is “Shut-up and fly the jet.”
Tell me what jets you’ve flown (LOL) and any IFE’s you experienced. Curious.
LOL
Nah, many HERE have too, proving my point.
LOL, no need to get back to me, thanks.
Have a nice day.
“Nah, many HERE have too, proving my point.”
I would but that made no sense.
“Many?”
LOL.
LMFAO — keep those inanities coming!

Not much for logic and reason are you. . .”LOL, no need to get back to me, thanks” and then engage with me.
That is funny, for sure.
I have a challenge for you; I’ve shared your posts with a neighbor.
I bet him that you simply CAN’T stop engaging, your childish nature cannot be ignored so you have to respond.
He says you will no longer respond because you are an “adult.”
We shall see who is correct, me or my neighbor. (We’ve got an adult beverage riding on this, you respond and he buys the beer, and if don’t respond then I buy him the beer.)
The bullies started around a year out last Presidential election cycle, too.
I’ve been a particular favorite. I “blame” my erudition.
They can’t seem to help themselves.
