Scalfari: Pope Francis Told Me That Jesus Incarnate Was a 'Man ... Not at All a God'
cns news ^ | 10.09.2019 | Michael chapmen

This story was updated at 2:25 p.m EST to include a brief statement from the Vatican, which does not deny what Scalfari reported about Pope Franics, only saying it "cannot be considered as a faithful account of what was effectively said, but represent more a personal free interpretation of that which he [Scalfari] heard." (See below.)

In the latest edition of La Repubblica, Pope Francis' longtime atheist friend and interviewer, Eugenio Scalfari, claims that the Pope told him that once Jesus Christ became incarnate, he was a man, a "man of exceptional virtues" but "not at all a God."

The teaching of the Catholic Church and most Christian churches is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was incarnated as fully man and fully God.

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human. He became truly man while remaining truly God. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. During the first centuries, the Church had to defend and clarify this truth of faith against the heresies that falsified it. (464)"

There is nothing “Holy” about this Pope. It’s a shame what he is doing to the Catholic Church.

Sounds like pope F. is taking the Islamic view that Jesus was a prophet and only a man. You can really see this demon laying the ground for Chrislam.

…57Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” 58“Truly, truly, I tell you,” Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area.

Every true Christian accepts the creeds: Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian. These creeds were established in the earliest days of the Church, long before any sects and schisms developed.

The Creeds affirm the fundamental Christian doctrine that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.

Our Lady of Good Success :

How the Church will suffer on that occasion the dark night of the lack of a Prelate and Father to watch over them with paternal love, gentleness, strength, and prudence. Many priests will lose their spirit, placing their souls in great danger. Pray insistently without tiring and weep with bitter tears in the secrecy of your heart, imploring our Celestial Father that, for love of the Eucharistic Heart of my Most Holy Son and His Precious Blood shed with such generosity and by the profound bitterness and sufferings of His cruel Passion and Death, He might take pity on His Ministers and quickly bring to an end those ominous times, sending to this Church the Prelate that will restore the spirit of its Priests.

From time to time I have taken good natured jabs at you “Catliks”, being the Baptist I am.
(I freely admit we Baptists have problems of our own.)

I really feel for you folks since Prince Frankie the Foul took over the Vatican.
Hey, if I miss John Paul II I can’t imagine how a Catholic feels.

“In a March 2018 interview with Scalfari, Pope Francis reportedly said, “There is no Hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls”

I believe it is the official position of the Catholic religion that there is no physical hell, but it is rather a 'state of mind'...And the same goes for heaven...

"cannot be considered as a faithful account of what was effectively said, but represent more a personal free interpretation of that which he [Scalfari] heard."

If one states that "Jesus was God incarnate", how is that subject to confusion or personal interpretation by the hearer?

So what exactly did Bergoglio say?

Because Bergoglio is Obama's pope, I have my suspicions.

The most important question, in my opinion, is who chose this Pope, and what does that say about he Church hierarchy and Cardinals..

"Arian heresy."

“This guy should be in the politburo, not the head of the Catholic Church”

He should be a floor sweeper, except that every day the floor would still be dirty, and someone would have to explain how it was the he swept the floor, and yet the floor was not swept, so, no one would hire him.

This man is basically only fit for the unemployment line, and I can’t think of another person I’ve ever even thought that about.

As this was not listed as a Catholic Caucus thread, I’d like to offer my two cents worth. This MAN is truly evil. How he could ever be considered Pope is beyond me. What do many of the faithful here think of him?

Anti Christ is the head of the Church. Catholic Church is evil. This coming from a former Catholic. They are a socialist activist group of Sal Alinski disciples disguised as a church. Pitiful.
