Debra Oliver said: "Funny that – he was buried at sea too"

A shocked woman made a bombshell discovery when she found a seashell that looks just like terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Debra Oliver, 60, found the distinctive-looking shell bearing a striking resemblance to the al-Qaida boss on Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex.

She was "drawn to the curious-looking" find as she went for a walk while celebrating her 42nd wedding anniversary with hubby Martin, 62.

Legal secretary Debra realised it bore an uncanny resemblance to the September 11 mastermind.

She remarked: "Funny that – he was buried at sea too".

Debra, of Brentsford, west London, "fell apart laughing" and kept it "as a little memento".

She said: "It's not that often you find a seashell that looks like anyone at all, so finding Osama bin Laden was amazing.

"We'd all gone for a walk on the beach, which is covered in millions and millions of shells and pebbles.

"I was drawn to this curious-looking shell and went to pick it up. When I looked at it properly up close, I thought it looked like Jesus.

"I then saw a turban on the top, and realised who was staring up at me in the palm of my hand – Osama bin Laden."

Bin Laden hit the top spot, others thought the seashell resembled ex-Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini.

Al-Qaida first emerged in the late 1980s as Arab volunteers joined US-backed mujahideen in fighting the Soviet Union.

Bin Laden left Afghanistan in 1986, but then returned in 1996 to run military training camps for thousands seeking to wage jihad.

He declared a holy war on the West and has most notably been behind the September 11 attack in New York which killed 2,977 people in 2001.

US special forces killed bin Laden in 2011, in a daring night raid on his compound in Pakistan, before dumping his body at sea off the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.

This year, US troops also killed bin Laden's son – and suspected eventual heir – Hamza.

Current leader Ayman al-Zawahiri is subject to a $25million bounty for his successful capture. Al-Qaida remains a powerful force in the terror world, and their leader made a speech on September 11 calling for more attacks on the West.

All that’s missing are the bullet holes in his head and face.

“I read it as Obama instead of Osama.”

I did too, and then I remembered that anything that looks like zero is black and comes from the toilet.
