You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
THE IN THING NOW IS TO SCROLL DOWN TO MAGNUM44S HELPFUL HINT BEFORE YOU SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
Solution to our last puzzle:
YOU CANNOT BE A LEADER, AND ASK OTHER PEOPLE TO FOLLOW YOU, UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW, TOO.---SAM RAYBURN
The first crypto I have solved left to right, line by line. Guessed at first word based on pattern of letters. Just fill in blanks after that. About 1 min.
Huh. Got it just about as fast as I could type. Can’t offer many hints, got the most popular letter on the first try and the rest of it just flowed. Not a single wrong guess. That never happens.
I agree - I think I’m going to put a copper still in my man-space. For decorative purposes...
Thats the best and most enjoyable way! Good job!!!!!
Nice and straightforward.
About 1 minute. 1st word of second sentence, the one-letter word right after it, the letter E, off to the races.
add me to ping list please
i’LL BE happy to do so.
Took a couple of minutes.
Who? Wow! Deep!
IF true, shouldn’t parents be living in their children’s basement?
Thank you.
