What did Robert Mueller discuss with Trump the day before he was appointed Special Counsel?
saraacarter.com ^ | 10/9/19 | Gregg Jarrett

Editor’s note: This column is adapted from Gregg Jarrett’s new book “Witch Hunt: The Story Of The Greatest Mass Delusion In American Political History.”

It has always been suspicious that Robert Mueller met with President Trump in the Oval Office the day before he was officially appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate Trump.

Newly uncovered documents show that Mueller and Rosenstein had been privately communicating in the days before that meeting. They worked sedulously to keep it a secret. Trump had no idea that Mueller was already on board to serve as special counsel.

So, why was Mueller there in the Oval? Was it part of a scheme to furtively gather evidence that, as special counsel, he could then use against Trump? Did he lure the president into a conversation under false pretenses? The answer appears to be yes.

When I interviewed president Trump for my new book, “Witch Hunt: The Story Of The Greatest Mass Delusion In American Political History,” I asked him why Mueller was there:

President Trump: “Mueller wanted very badly to have the job as FBI director and to return to the FBI. I didn’t want him. I rejected him. By the way, how much of a conflict is it when a guy comes in wanting a job, I say no, and the next day he’s your special prosecutor? It’s outrageous.”

It was outrageous. It seems increasingly clear that Trump was being set-up, and that Mueller was neither forthcoming nor honest during the meeting.

More from Gregg Jarrett:

He deliberately concealed from the president that he was about to launch a damaging investigation that threatened Trump’s presidency. The duplicity was more than a sufficient basis to require that he disqualify himself from the special counsel position.

The president’s account of his meeting with Mueller was corroborated by his then-assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, who arranged it and was privy to its purpose and content. I questioned her about this. She confirmed to me that, without a doubt, Mueller had been there interviewing for the job of FBI director. Recently, multiple administration officials backed up this account to Fox News. Newly released records also substantiate it.

There has been widespread speculation about Mueller’s intentions. Tuesday, Fox News’ Bret Baier and Jake Gibson reported that Mueller was indeed “pursuing the open post as the director of the FBI – something the former Russia probe special counsel denied under oath during congressional testimony this summer.”

So, has Mueller been lying about this all along? Consider his July 24, 2019 testimony before congress:

Mueller: “My understanding was I was not applying for the job. I was asked to give my input on what it would take to do the job.

Question: So it is your statement that you didn’t interview to apply for the FBI director job?

Mueller: That’s correct.”

Mueller doesn’t remember the Steele Dossier either. His memory is faulty as Hillary’s and just as unlikely.

Until the president treats this like a coup and uses World War II tactic this bullshit’s going to go on and on and on.

Another article quotes Jarrett’s book also and he seems to think that Mueller and POTUS would have naturally discussed Comey’s firing when they met. This is the first article I’d seen advancing the inquiry about what they might of discussed. It’s not proof but it’s the first speculation I think I’ve seen.

The Swamp wanted to maintain control of the FBI, they gad too many skeletons in their closets over at FBI HQ.

The president didn’t bite by hiring Mueller as FBI director, and so they appointed Mueller as special counsel to control the president.Mueller knew 18 months before his investigation ended officially that he had no case against the president, yet he still kept trying to get control of the president. He failed.

Mueller belongs in an orange jump suit along with Comey, McCabe and all the others!

The guy was a cipher, a ghost, and in his testimony, a golem who could not remember his shibboleth. Nothing more than a cheap puppet.

Mueller also made sure to keep his investigation open during the 2018 mid-term election in order to hurt Trump/Republicans as much as possible.

It is naïve to think that all those “leaks” that the MSM breathlessly reported (even though they were false) occurred without Mueller’s knowledge.

The Federalist chronicled all of Mueller's abuses of power, highlighting selective prosecutions-----
Mueller’s team charged Trump allies with crimes Clinton allies committed as Mueller sat idly by twiddling his thumbs.

Applying the law equally was never the mission of Mueller’s investigation. It was meant to cripple Trump’s presidency
and provide Democrats with an endless number of "openings" in hopes of proving Trump colluded with the Russian state.

All of it proved be fantastical rabbit holes of nothingness. “Mueller’s performance made it clear:
his wasn’t an independent investigation pursuant to the rule of law so much as an inquisition motivated by political animus.

Mueller and his team refused to charge prominent Democrats for crimes he pinned on Republicans.
The luckless Paul Manafort was charged with unregistered lobbying for foreign governments.

Mueller ignored long-time Democrat donor Tony Podesta and ex-Obama WH Counsel Greg Craig who were doing the exact same thing.”

Mueller is a filthy pettifogger whose entire career has been built on lies, deceit, and defrauding the court—the worst ethical violation an attorney can commit. Innocent men are in prison because of Mueller’s criminal behavior.

What has been done to Manafort is unthinkable outside of a third world shit hole.

The terrible news is that this POS and AG Barr have been close friends for 20+ years. The deck is stacked.

No punishment would be excessive.

A girl can dream.

Mueller was a co-conspirator with Comey, McCabe, Clapper and Brennan. The man who made Mueller honest was none other that AG Barr, who said put up or shut ‘er down.

Mueller and his police state tactics had top cover from the GOP. So you can add Ryan, McConnell and Graham to your list of coup co-conspirators.

Agreed.

Why do you think Ryan resigned his seat in Congress?

He knew that the truth would out eventually
