Fox News announced Wednesday that the former South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy has been “terminated” by the network.
Gowdy’s firing comes after he reportedly agreed to help the White House fight a Democrat led impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. Fox originally hired the former representative as an on-air contributor back in January.
“Trey Gowdy has been terminated and is no longer a contributor,” a Fox News spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter.
The former South Carolina representative rose to fame as chairman of the House oversight committee. During his tenure, he led investigations into the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks in Libya, and supported other inquiries into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Gowdy decided to not run for reelection in the 2018 midterms after serving 8 years in the House.
“Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system,” Gowdy said before the 2018 midterm elections, according to Bloomberg.

The local guy, Erickson, that comes on at 4 after 1 hour of Hannity, her in Atlanta.. has made fun of we/us who watch any news from Fox.. the same station Rush is on and Hannity.. I can’t stand him and off he goes. He sounds so superior when he rips into Trump’s voters. He just can’t give Trump a chance... can’t see the good from his own bias in the beginning.

Yes she was.. few days ago several on FR threatened to leave Fox if Ryan was going to be on there.. my comment was that Fox would not be letting ryan go... they’d keep him.. the lefty he turned out to be in congress...

The guy that was on the couch today, after Marie spouted off about something, bombed her comment as “Ignorant”. Then one of the gals jumped RIGHT in and said “Don’t call Marie ignorant”!
You bet they would. Fox still has journalistic ethics, unlike its leftist competitors. It would be highly unethical to employ Gowdy while he's an active participant of a partisan election.
Fox is the only cable network to attempt to present both sides of issues. I watch a lot and it still tilts Right in most of its programming. If Fox took only Right Wing positions it would be as bad as CNN or MSNBC who never offer balanced reporting. If Freepers aren't able to handle some opposing viewpoints it's a sad day for me as a conservative.

I’m going to use an old Chad from my UC Berkeley days for Reese to have a giant rally on the mall and smash thousands of TV sets and read statistics about how children were seeing hundreds of episodes of violence that they should never see and it was causing all kinds of problems in America this was the 1980s

If Fox had journalistic ethics, they wouldn’t have hired Ms. Brazile in the first place. Or Mark Fuhrman, for that matter. I don’t care so much if they hire left or right but I do care when they hire people who behave dishonestly then lie about it. In my opinion, their credibility is tainted henceforth.
