A carjacker died after he accidentally blasted himself in the chest while trying to smash a window with the butt of his shotgun, an inquest has heard.

Officers investigating the death of Reece Ramsey-Johnson said they were satisfied there was ‘no third party involvement’ as they closed the probe into his killing.

Witnesses who saw the 22-year-old dying from gunshot wounds in the street outside a Lloyds bank in Sydenham on Sunday, September 8, said his own gun may have gone off when he used to to hit a car window.

Opening the inquest at Southwark Coroner’s Court on Thursday September 26, Dr Andrew Harris confirmed the police investigation had now ended.

He said: ‘The investigating officer is satisfied there is no third party involvement.

HA!

Soon as I read “shot in the chest” I knew he weren’t no proper American!

Americans know, instinctively, that the muzzle is to be aimed at the face when going for the accidental discharge by slam fire.

"‘Carjacker’ killed himself when shotgun went off as he tried to smash window"

That's a BALD-FACED LIE! The shotgun killed him in cold blood. He was simply an innocent victim!

Double barrelled shotguns are legal and actually pretty easy to get hold of.

Do you live in the U.K.? Do you know this for a fact?

Yes, I’m also a member of a rifle club, so I have some understanding of UK gun laws. Shotgun licences are very easy to get hold of, and when applying for a licence, there is a burden of proof on the police to justify a refusal, such as showing that someone has a criminal record or is mentally unstable. Shotguns are an essential tool of farmers so it would be very easy for them to sue the police for denying ghem to be able to get one without a very good reason. They are probably about as easy to get as a handgun is in the US, which requires a background check. “Firearms” (guns other than shotguns or smoothbore weapons) are a different category, and the burden of proof lies on the person applying why they should be granted one. Usually, being a member of a home office recognised and regulated gun club and having the requisite security in place to safely store such weapons suffices.
