I still haven’t seen how a low railing protects against a lion
It is not the railing that protects. It is the moat.
By carefully framing the shot, it makes it look like there is nothing between the woman and the lion. Actually, there is a concrete moat about 20 feet deep.
Just dumbassery, but not terribly dangerous dumbassery.
Heck - that lion could have eaten for a week off that! The keepers could take that week off!
It doesn’t. The railing is there to keep idiot humans from falling into the moat. It’s the moat that keeps lions from dining on idiots. It says a lot about the stupidity of people that there is no need for a railing to keep lions from falling into the moat.
