A woman climbed over a safety barrier at New York Citys Bronx Zoo last week and made her way into the lion exhibit, standing dangerously close to one of the animals.
The woman, standing a few feet away from a male lion, waved her hands and moved her body as if she was dancing. The incident was captured in photos and videos that were posted on Instagram.
It's unclear how long the woman stayed in the enclosure. There was a moat-like barrier between the lion and the area where the woman was standing, NBC New York reported.
No one was injured. In a statement, the zoo called the incident a violation and said it had filed a complaint for criminal trespass.
"This action was a serious violation and unlawful trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death. Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe," the zoo told NBC New York. "We have a zero tolerance policy on trespass and violation of barriers."

Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe I do not think that word means what you think it means. 'Bothree', perhaps?

My wife is currently addicted to a series on Animal PlanetThe Zoo which is all about the Bronx zoo. She probably knows the name of the lion involved. I wonder if the incident will be in a future episode.

We need it at the border.
I’m sure the lion and his pack would love the chance for free fresh meat by the carload ...

I saw the video on the news this morning. I was hoping that a croc would amble up behind her.

I've thought a lot about fighting a kangaroo, and if I was younger, I'm pretty sure I could do it. Don't fight it square on, only from the side, lots of head shots, and DO NOT LET IT SET IT'S TAIL, or you're done for. Obviously, it'd have to wear boxing gloves and something on its feet to protect me from its claws.
A lion, though, that’d be a lot harder. I think if you got behind it you could put it in a full Nelson, but that's not really beating it up. That's just a losing proposition.

The incident was captured in photos and videos that were posted on Instagram. And that's what it's all about. Social media attention-whoring is wrecking our society from the top down to the dregs.

LOL!
If “they” can refer to an individual, then “both” can refer to three or more.

Stupids gotta stupid. It’s just a shame the lion had to deal with this home invader and her billboard-wide rear.

People will do just about anything to be "famous on the Internet" for a moment or two.
Of course, if this moron was mauled by the lion, there would be a massive lawsuit filed against the zoo.
