Tucson, AZ is “studying” setting up designated areas, like a parking space, where you have to park the scooter in order for the app to release your rental. If the scooter is not between the two posts then you just keep getting charged.

I hate those things the ‘people’ who ride those ride anywhere they please... middle of the street, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, people’s lawns and leave them wherever. In front of my office building today was 10 of them... A rider got seriously injured with one... He rode it down a one way street into a pickup truck. He was going the wrong way...
