(CNN) -- A man in Florida has been sneaking around his neighborhood tampering with electric scooters parked on the streets, police say.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department posted a surveillance video Tuesday showing 59-year-old Randall Williams walking up to an electrical scooter on the street, slapping a white sticker on its QR code, and cutting its brake lines, essentially rendering it impossible to use.
Police say that more than 140 scooters have been disabled and vandalized in a similar way in the southeast part of Fort Lauderdale since April 5.
Officers had already homed in on Williams as a possible suspect, and the majority of the acts of vandalism happened within two blocks of his apartment.

But then again...
Electric scooters have Breaks ?
> They need ones that can drive themselves to a more useful place.
Tucson, AZ is “studying” setting up designated areas, like a parking space, where you have to park the scooter in order for the app to release your rental. If the scooter is not between the two posts then you just keep getting charged.
> I wonder if a degausser would do any good in disabling these things...
Probably wouldn’t even need a 12ga degausser. A 20ga would knock the gauss out of it.
Whaddya got there? The 4-volt?
I did ya a favor!
I hate those things the ‘people’ who ride those ride anywhere they please... middle of the street, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, people’s lawns and leave them wherever. In front of my office building today was 10 of them... A rider got seriously injured with one... He rode it down a one way street into a pickup truck. He was going the wrong way...
I hate those frickin’ scooters, I almost get run over by some idiot riding one at least once a week.
No wonder diabetes is rampant in this county, people can’t even bother to frickin’ walk a few blocks.
