Americans - "No civilian needs military grade weapons"
- Hong Kong right now

If everyone actually read the article, it has a totally different connotation than what the byline reads. But most people in the country
Americans - “No civilian needs military grade weapons”
The left has been taking advantage of this for years and years. They supply the lies and “spin” on everything they can and this is one of them. You mentioned the meme. If the reader reads the byline I pasted above, and that’s all they read, what do they get out of the article? To me it’s that the Americans are against the distribution of weapons among the citizenry without definition. Meme is an abbreviated form of the Greek word “mimeme,” which means “something imitated.” That’s my problem.
So if they are forced to define what they are talking about rather than throwing out a general statement with no guidelines, that leaves it open to determination and a battle against change.
“The importance of the right to bear arms is being demonstrated.”
The picture in the article displays violence and harm. And people read pictures more than words. Liberals are going to lie. And they boost their membership with this type of depiction. The article is after the fact and doesn’t get the point across.

“The people will have many of the weapons the military and law enforcement have.”
And that’s one of the reasons the demonstration in the picture is so misleading to the article. It displays violence and the inability for the person being beaten to retaliate. So the only way to do it is with weapons that are demonized? Article doesn’t match with the picture and will not be widely read. (Something about a thousand words)

The graphic is a photo of government forces abusing an unarmed citizen.
The graphic is showing the how the quote, and American liberal position, is wrong.
It’s quite obvious.
“my Russian grandmother taught me to hate commies and I do”
I wish we had a few million more like her.
The British came for Colonists’ cannons and cannonballs at Lexington & Concord.
Actually, part of the time, the colonists had weapons "higher than military grade" (i.e. rifled barrels as opposed to smoothbores). Historically, civilian weaponry has usually been one or two steps more advanced that "standard-issue" military weaponry.
It’s not the Bill of Needs, it’s the Bill of Rights.
When they say that my response is that if he were that bad, his opponents would be in concentration camps, disappeared or found dead. A lot of them NEED killing, but are still running around loose!

“Its quite obvious.”
Only if you see it in the mind of one who takes the time to look at it. Remember, blame McDonalds’ on the coffee spill. The guy in the motor home that put the unit on speed control and went back for a meal. And how many people are in jail for defending their person or property but weren’t allowed to by the court review of their actions.
If you are a trained sheep through our public school systems or our societal terminology blessed forth by the media, you don’t see the attack, you see the violence. And accompanied by:

People will see what they are presented, not what’s there. And, in my mind, at least half of the country, and growing, will see it that way. And this type of misleading efforts are part of how things are taken away...through lack of recognition, care, or reactive fear.

I get what you’re saying is that the sarcasm and irony would be missed.
In context, though, it’s quite clear within online Chinese community community in its support of Hong Kong over communist China and how it is a current real life example of a despotic government with power over an unarmed populace.
It’s making fun of US liberals and pointing out how useless they are.

Thanks. May be the basis for my next editorial page submission.

Many will interpret it that way. Unfortunately we have way too many people that will agree with the statement and be shaking their little heads yes just because it is written that way, one they will never read.
Problem: people don’t think, they just passively watch the world fold down around their ears. If they actually paid attention to the article and “took the time” to read the intent, they would be wiser and much more informed. But that’s why they are called snowflakes and/or sheep. And snowflakes ultimately melt and sheep are sheered or slaughtered. Too bad they hold the power to take the shepherd and the snowplow guy, people like Trump, with them.
