Operators of certain 737 Next Generation planes will be required to make inspections, the FAA said.
The cracking was found in the planes pickle forks, which attach the planes body to its wing structure, CNN affiliate KOMO reported.
Pickle forks are designed to last more than 90,000 landings and takeoffs without cracking, the affiliate said, and there could be dire results if the system fails, it said.
In a statement, Boeing said the cracking issue was found on a small number of airplanes. No in-service issues have been reported, the company said. Over the coming days, we will work closely with our customers to implement a recommended inspection plan for certain airplanes in the fleet. This issue does not affect any 737 MAX airplanes or the P-8 Poseidon. The Boeing 737 NGs are the models designated 737-700, 737-800, and 737-90

By the way all A/V’s have cracking issues.. That is why the planes are pulled from service to check for cracks. In the old days when people were allowed to smoke it was easier to see the cracks.. The cracks had brown stains around them..
This is only one of the latest quality/maintenance issues.
No, but he is the co-pilot.
Pilot error...
Missed this, Yep, this has to be pilot error. American companies never make mistakes. I think most of that crew here are engineers, If you ask an engineer, engineers never make mistakes either. Can’t happen, even if it fails it was properly designed to fail. lol
I interpreted his comment as... If god had meant for man to fly he would have given him wings. lol
I always used pickle forks to remove ball joints...wish I had known they could be used in the kitchen...
Yep - the headline was meant for "lay-persons".
We know that inspection intervals tend to change over the length of an airframe (or drive-train), as more data is collected. It's the process every aircraft model goes through. Yawn....
Yeah, it seems like a rather important piece of the plane. I'm guessing it would be upsetting to the pilots and passengers if the wings stopped being attached to the body...
Between the software and now this, I'm wondering if at least a few corners were cut in the engineering analysis of the consequences of increasing the wing size and max takeoff weight of the NG versions.
Boeing evidently has issues with its current engineering staff (How many H1B's?) and management.
FADEC is more responsible for aircraft deaths than MCAS.
Were these forks made in China?
A quick Google check, and yes, these planes were made in China.
Boeing 737 - Assembled from part including those from:
Xi’an Aircraft Industry, China.
Korea Aerospace Industries.
Asian Composites Manufacturing, Malaysia.
Chengfei Commercial Aircraft (CCAC), China
Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing, China.
Aerospace Industrial Development Corp, Taiwan.
Chengdu Aircraft, China.
BHA Aero Composite Parts Co. Ltd, China.
The A/V is assembled and Tested In America!!!
“If one got in that pickle, theyd be forked.”
ROFL!
I don’t care where the Audio-Visual material was prepared.
Or were you referring to this:

A/V stand for Air Vehicle.. That is flight line terms..
