People are getting out because taxes are continually going up to cover the state’s insane public pension liabilities. Yep! I'm looking at jobs in eastern Tennessee and South Carolina at the moment. Interviewed for them already progressed to second round and hoping to get an offer.
I'll be out of Illinois as fast as I can be. This state absolutely SUCKS.

91 out of 102 illannoy counties voted for Trump. The number 1 economic killer here are real estate taxes. That’s the straw that breaks most peoples’ backs. That layered on top of ever rising income taxes, off the charts graft and corruption, endless chicken shit laws, endless democrat control of the levers of government, Chicago crime, gun control, and much much more. Chicago/crook county and to a lesser extent the collar counties kill the state.

Two words: Exit Tax.
Impossible? They have them effectively already, in the guide of a real estate transfer tax, which Chicago was considering raising further “on the wealthy”.

Lots of Illinois tags in Kansas. However, I think it’s just because it costs a lot less to tag in Illinois than Kansas. Not some kind of mass exodus.
