What is NXIVM (pronounced nek-see-um)? NXIVM was started in 1998 in the upstate NY area by disgraced multi-level-marketer Keith Raniere and bills itself as an organization for personal development that trains people in "human empowerment". In March 2018, Raniere and five of his top inner-circle were indicted by Federal authorities on a variety of charges related to racketeering, conspiracy, money-laundering, sex offenses, human trafficking, and more. The five other women have all pleaded out around April, leaving Raniere as the only person at the jury trial that started on May 7th. Raniere and his top lieutenants have long, deep ties to many NY politicians including Clinton, Gillibrand, Cuomo, and others. The news media is barely reporting this story for obvious reasons.
Raniere was found guilty on all charges by the jury on June 19, 2019. His sentencing was scheduled for September 25, 2019, but has been postponed by the judge. He faces life in prison.

Original sentencing dates resulting from the convictions and plea deals earlier this year were all postponed by the presiding judge, Garaufis, to allow more time for the Feds to compose the pre-sentencing reports [heads up, the twitter author writes for Vice and is rabid TDS]. Judge Garaufis is finally setting some dates. Also Moira Penza, the former prosecutor for the US Attorney in the case has left government service for private practice. And (hold on to your biscuits) it looks like the US Attorney wants her replacement to be Teny Garagos. If her name sounds familiar, it's because Miss Teny Garagos was one of Raniere's defense attorneys during the trial.
Clare Bronfman is now scheduled to be sentenced January 8, 2020. She purchased a likely sentence of 21-27 months in Federal custody. We say "purchased" because part of her plea deal, which drastically reduced the charges against in exchange for...nothing...included a token $6 million fine payable to DOJ. Her estimated worth is between $100 and $300 million.
Next up is Kathy Russell, the so-called bookkeeper, who will be sentenced on January 29, 2020. She faces a likely sentence of 6-12 months in lockup. If the judge exceeds 18 months, she can appeal the sentence according to her plea deal. No word yet on the other three defendants - Nancy and Lauren Salzman, Allison Mack, or the Vanguard himself, Keith Raniere. Raniere remains locked up in Manhattan, while the other five cult members are on house arrest with varying degrees of restrictions.
While there is little legal news to update, rumors and soap opera stories abound. Lifetime channel just aired a movie based on Catherine Oxenburg's book about her daughter, India's, involvement and escape from the cult. Toni Natalie has a book out. Lots of people trying to cash in, and lots of former NXIVM ladies are backstabbing each other to be The One that brought Raniere and NXIVM down. Glamour magazine is running a story on the witness "Sylvie" based on her testimony. And EOnline even dug up some old Allison Mack interview material to publish with the premier of the Lifetime movie.
Rumbling in the background of all this are rumors that Nicki Clyne and some other top-tier NXIVM women are running around in New York, Florida, possibly Mexico, and maybe Europe, trying to rebuild and maintain NXIVM. I guess they're waiting on the return of their Vanguard? Or are they just cashing in where they can? When it comes to possible additional charges from the Northern District of New York Federal prosecutors, there is silence. That may be a good thing. We shall see.

Thanks for the update, KitJ. I’m having.a hard time today, these people are like cancer. Their malignant tentacles are embedded in everything and everywhere. They’ve indoctrinated how many generations via the educational system and it is getting to the point you cannot hold a conversation with people anymore. Somebody talk me down off the ledge today!
Hopefully the other charges/trial in upstate NY will have stiffer sentences. All assets owned by NXIVM runners should be confistacted.
