Daughter, 5, Lives After Father Holding Her Jumps Onto Subway Tracks in the Bronx

A man holding his 5-year-old daughter jumped onto subway tracks in the Bronx during Monday's morning rush, killing himself but thankfully only leaving the child with minor injuries, police said.

The man had the girl cradled in one arm when he jumped in front of the train as it rounded a curve and slowed at the Kingsbridge Road station just before 8 a.m., police said. The man, identified as Fernando Balbuena, was killed by the Manhattan-bound train — but the girl lived, getting trapped underneath.

With the help of two strangers, the little girl crawled her way to safety. One of the good Samaritans said the girl was calling out for her father the whole time.

"Papa, Papa, Papa, that's it. She didn't say anything else," said Antonio Love, who went down onto the tracks with another man to help the child.

She was rushed to the hospital afterward, but after only minor injuries were found the girl was brought home by her godfather to her mother, who expressed gratitude to those who helped her daughter.

"My baby is in perfect condition, thank God ... to the angels who protected her," Niurka Caraballo said in Spanish hours after the ordeal.

She probably doesn’t speak English. At the YMCA I go to I hear russian, Arabic, Spanish. Migrants used to be respectful and try to speak English. Now none of the foriegners care to do so.

Possibilities:

• The good die young and are spared the evil to come. ISA 57:1
• As a side effect of freedom of will, we can make choices, and we live in a world where other's can make choices that affect us. Choices have consequences. Evil is allowed to exist because God didn't want robots that had no choice.
• The ramifications on others of any single action is unknowable except by God. Maybe it had less to do with her and more to do with someone else. That we can't make sense of it, doesn't mean God didn't have a reason.
• Every one suffers and dies in this life. A consequence of original sin. The timing and specifics are different for everyone and often doesn't seem fair.

I hope that your sister at some point turned her life over to Christ. In which case she is not destroyed at all. She will be in His presence waiting for you.

Children often suffer because of their parents.

• A neglected child whose mother is a drug user.
• A child raised in a false religion because of the decision of their forefathers to write God from their hearts.
• A child of a Babylonian king who did great evil and was wiped out along with most if not all of their civilization.

  It's not fair. But how would you possibly make it fair? Put everyone in the same exact simulator? The same parents, the same income, the same skills, the same everything? Allow only good parents to procreate? what if some are more good than others?

  We suffer if the citizens around us elect the wrong dang candidate.

  God is our Creator. He can choose to wipe out the entire earth as He did with the flood. He can choose to wipe out a kingdom and their descendants. He can choose to wipe out a family. You can rebel against your Creator, or you can make peace with Him.

  He can let us die the second death for our sins, or he can send a Savior.

Besides African Americans are there any other Americans still in living in NYC?

I'm just trying to get you to understand that we are created by Him and there is no point on dwelling whether things are fair relative to others. There needs to be variety.

If she had a chance and willfully rejected Jesus, then no. But if she never had the chance, then she is in Heaven and she has a new body and it’s healed.

In another age, she wouldn’t have survived that long. And she would have been with the Lord sooner. But we try our best to prolong life as I think we should in most cases.

I understand the pain & doubt that comes when someone we love is taken but miracles are not earned they are given out of love of humanity.
Not all can be saved, healed, cured. We cannot know the rhyme or reason we can only be grateful that there are miracles and grieve for those who suffer & die. My sorrow for your loss of your sister, may God hold her in the palm of his hand and bring you peace and the joy of the good memories.
