In an attempt to smear Attorney General William Barr, NBC News framed a story about Barrs support for due process (which shouldnt be controversial) as him supporting rapists.
Its a typical tactic by the media these days. Ever since the Obama administration issued guidelines in 2011 warning schools that they needed to find more male students responsible for sexual assault, due process has gone out the window. In 2017, professor K.C. Johnson and scholar Stuart Taylor wrote a book about the issue. At the time, I wrote a review for RealClear Books and my previous work on the subject was also referenced multiple times in the book.
The book details how colleges and universities ignore exculpatory evidence and hinder students due process rights in order to obtain findings of responsibility to avoid federal investigations that threaten the schools federal funding. Johnson and Taylor, using court documents, describe multiple instances where male students have been found responsible even though the evidence suggested they were innocent.
NBC reported that Barr strongly endorsed a 2017 book accusing colleges and universities of unfairly punishing male students accused of rape. That is not accurate, as the book accuses schools of unfairly punishing male students dubiously accused of rape. The book does not decry students who are likely guilty receiving too harsh a punishment, as NBC claimed.
"President Obama's Education Department promulgating regulations beyond its statutory authority, invoking erroneous data, and fanning the false narrative of a 'rape culture' on college campuses has created a regime of kangaroo justice," Barr wrote in the blurb.
This is an accurate statement. The Obama administration used false data purporting to show that 20% of women are sexually assaulted in college (surveys that use an overly broad definition of sexual assault in order to get such a high number) to justify eviscerating due process rights in campus tribunals. This same statistic has been used to claim there is a rape culture on college campuses, with activists and politicians insisting that drunken hookups are now sexual assault. Further, as I previously stated, the lack of due process and the ignoring of exculpatory evidence create a kangaroo court. Franz Kafka would be appalled.
NBC also distorted a recent story about Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh. NBC wrote: The New York Times published an excerpt of a new book detailing asexual assault allegation against Kavanaugh while a student at Yale that he had previously denied. The book also includes information about a new allegation.
This leaves out important details like how the book does not contain corroborating evidence for the previous claim and the new allegation was denied by the alleged victim.
The most egregious case in the book from Johnson and Stuart involves a male Amherst College student who blacked out, received oral sex from his girlfriends roommate, and was accused of sexual assault nearly two years later. In the time between the act and the accusation, the female accuser lost her friendship with the mans girlfriend and became friends with feminist campus activists. Even though Amherst has a policy explaining that a person could be in a black-out state without appearing to be inebriated and determined the male student was likely blacked out, it still found him responsible and expelled him. After the student hired an attorney, he learned that the woman had lied about what happened after the alleged encounter. She claimed she was distraught and called a friend over. That friend was actually another male student with whom she had been flirting previously in the night. She sent text messages to her friend explaining that she had done something so fu**ig [sic] stupid with her roommates boyfriend and that its pretty [obvious] I wasnt an innocent bystander.
She proceeded to text this friend about the man she invited over after the encounter about how he wasnt making a move on her. This male student signed an affidavit saying she was not at all distraught that night.
When the male student brought these messages to Amherst, school administrators refused to allow him back in, claiming the process worked. The school eventually settled with the student.
Naturally, NBC didnt include anything from the actual book in its report.
Sick and tired of this crap
Liberals don’t need no stinkin’ due process.
Yeah, and anyone who didn’t vote for Hillary hates women.
The elected Democrats are nothing but puppets, and useless ones at that. It’s the media, the lawyers, and fat cat donors who run that party!
And yet, what is the sanctuary movement about but supporting rapists and worse.
Exactly, they want a person’s life ruined based solely on an accusation. It’s like Nazi Germany, where entire families were sent to concentration camps because their neighbor that doesn’t like them turns them in for “behavior that is subversive”. Or the SS, whose only qualification for admission is that you’re a sadistic thug and question nothing, would just throw them out of a high window or push them in front of a speeding truck, that was also very common.
And you need therapy to determine why you hate women so much.
I am so glad not to be a white Christian male (WCM) student on campus today. While I know there are exceptions, it appears that a WCM STARTS with an UNEARNED but massive burden of cultural guilt. In many (most?) institutions, he is a minority and the cultural TARGET of one or more ‘colleges’ bearing names like ‘gender studies’ or the like.
At orientation he is REQUIRED to attend lectures where he and his fellow WCMs are depicted as villainous defilers of the LEFTist strictures (which are ever malleable according to the shifting winds de jour). God help any who attend such wearing a red baseball cap or an inappropriate shirt, expulsion may occur before the first class!
Then it becomes a 4+ year beatdown with the inevitable percentage succumbing to the zeitgeist of LEFTism just to survive. YUCK!
It’s all about sex with these people. All of their allegations and accusations against Republicans have to do with rape, sex, flirting blah, blah blah. They are master projectors.
“Liberals dont need no stinkin due process.”
I doubt barr cares much about due process either. A story to give barr some cred among conservatives. Barr is a phony; his agencies rank as some of the most corrupt in the world. Parallel construction, entrapment, lack of candor, witness intimidation, fabricated evidence. And that’s just the top people, all doj agencies work that way; top to bottom.
Barr was put in there as a deal to get Trump out of hot water. Trump agreed to let the deep state keep screwing the little people out of their rights.
ALL DEMOCRATS ARE VILE EVIL, VICIOUS, LYING DESTROYERS OF GOOD PEOPLE.
Lame Street Media and Demoncrats road to winning election:
Not harsh but true. The culprits are still out there.
Parallel construction: the 4eyes spying network, NSA.
Witness intimidation: Cohen, Stone, Manafort.
Lack of candor: McCabe, Comey.
Fabricated evidence: the dossier
Too many crooks still work there; from top to bottom. He needed to clean things up but instead he wants to fool people in thinking that he’s doing something. The whole culture is rotten to the core. Don’t fall for the bs.
What realistically can one expect from someone who was recruited out of high school by the CIA, and made AG at just 41 by ex-CIA Bush 41; who defended pro bono Federal sniper Lon Horiuchi, who assassinated American citizen Vicki Weaver, as she stood on her porch at Ruby Ridge with her daughter, not a rifle, in her arms; who (as the vaunted “New Sheriff in Town”) took no steps to keep Jeffrey Epstein - a literally world-famous criminal with connections whose demise by assisted suicide was being predicted far and wide - alive and available to expose those connections?
The Constitution matters far less to this unelected attorney than do his precious Institutions.
Bill Barr desecrated - DESECRATED - the memory of Vicki Weaver - and Lon Horiuchi was then free to take part at Waco. (We all know how well that turned out.)
I have said all along that there will likely be one or more fall guys, to appease the hicks in the hinterland. But actual rule of law - as it is ruthlessly enforced upon the little people?
Not on your life (and they will see to it that it is YOUR life - as they did with Paul Manafort and Jeffrey Epstein).
Those who opine that Barr was the brokered truce at/after his former master’s funeral have the right of it, I think: Trump got an end to the Mueller witch hunt; the Deep State got a human firewall who will only allow a controlled demolition of the most egregious lawless structures of the Deep State that have been exposed.
