Yeah, sure......we’ll take care of counting the votes for you ....wink wink....nudge nudge
Four months or so left as a Windows user for me. Been using Windows since 3.1. Don’t think I want to go to Win10.
Hacking these machines sounds like a cool elementary school science project!
MS sent a major upgrade to my Win10 tablet yesterday. It took half of the day to get the download; then, half the evening to install it.
Now, the tablet boots, stays open for a few minutes, gets major crash errors and .net errors, then reboots to more of the same. It has rebooted over a dozen times this morning.
At least with Win7, I can turn off auto-updates, but ‘critical’ updates still get installed. Occasionally, although it has been a while, I had to run System Restore on my Win7 laptop and desktop.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
Are the vendors and jurisdictions going to recertify their systems after what will be a massive patch? I doubt it.
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be defenseless for any good reason ~ nully's son
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
for a long time, i have been under the impression that xfinity automated tellers still use windows 98. apparently the jump to windows 2000 was too much for the credit card companies to stomach...
Oh yeah. Election integrity will be totally beyond question with Microsoft on security.
Don’t laugh
Just got through a training session with a company who has contracted to do the “early voting (fraud)” using Ipads, wifi and Bluetooth.
I approached one of the hosters and asked if these tablets would be running IOS 13 in order to be patched for Bluetooth vulnerabilities. I got a blank stare.
Disclaimer: I am NOT an Apple person.
Legitimate question. If Microsoft will be providing free security updates for government election entities through the 2020 election cycle, is there any reason the general public shouldn’t get the same extension? Or would that involve some technical problems of which I am unaware?
great i feel so safe now and that microsquish would never do anything shady to our voting systems.
Time was long ago to switch to... no more Windows, ever.
LINUX-— will run everything windows did and then some. Fast, constant updates.... not patch after patch after patch.
The Windows “software” design started out as a dirt road, and then year after year the dirt crappy road was “patched” all over the dirt. And thus eminently vulnerable to attack .
Windows is crap and they know it—
