American Flags in Hong Kong:Where do they get them?

Posted on 09/20/2019 7:00:12 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

The Chicoms are using the flag waving as an excuse to accuse us of being behind the protests. I am proud of the American flags being waved. It's American exceptionalism on display. The Red army can put them down but the movement will go on. The world is watching in places like Iran, Venezuela and Cuba. Don't forget Moscow. Their biggest fear is the POTUS being a disturber of the excrement. The perfect storm is brewing.

Where do they get them? Aren’t most American flags made over there?

LOL, what a headline? I was in Europe a couple of years ago, its the same story there. If it was made of cloth material it was from China. Add plastic and metal also. I just love those screws and nails from China, they work great on Styrofoam boards. Use them on wood they will bend, or the screw head will turn to mush. Gotta love the cheap labor.

They gotta be made over there. Cheap. It will emphasize how other countries are being left behind while others such as India, Thailand are now tigers and Poland/Hungary are not under the communist thumb anymore. It’s called changing with the times. Hong Kong was always ahead of the others and the big bad mama is losing control.

British order, duty, language and sportsmanship combined with far eastern discipline and ambition is a tough combination to beat.

This reminds me of a cartoon from decades ago about a Chinese dissident named Harry Wu. He had been living in the USA for some time, but attempted to enter China and was arrested by the Chinese and sentenced to hard labor. A political cartoon in an American paper showed Wu being assigned a sewing machine in a sweatshop as his punishment, where the workers were making "Free Harry Wu!" t-shirts.

Fortunately, Harry only served a couple of months before being deported.

An astute observation. Look at the real jewel of the region, Singapore. Started as a small fishing village and developed by British entrepreneur Raffles into a British Navy and merchant trading post along the one open east to west route between India and China. Then cast aside by Malaysia as too Chinese for their Muslim majority tastes. Since then gone from dirt floor shacks and an Arab Street and quarter straight out of Hollywood movie, to a glittering ultra-modern island city set amidst an equatorial rain forest.

Singapore is the most amazing city I’ve ever been to. And they have the best airport in the world (Changi).
