So, a massive expansion of government to enforce and support the permanent institutionalization of tens of millions of citizens who have committed no crime. And what's that going to cost?

Prove it. Post a link with a picture of lanza in the school with an AR15.
While I don’t know the people involved, I am from this area and can offer some insight into a few, if not many, of your questions.

What I don’t get is...
I won’t send my daughter to school. I won’t because there is a chance that she may get shot or stabbed.
To do this, I have taken a serious cut in pay and life is tough.
Other parents obviously send their kids to school. They work and have things.
You may see where I’m going here. It seems the risk is ok for most parents to “chance it” so they can work and get more stuff ?
Am I missing something here ? Why would anyone send their kid to school ? There is a chance that they will get killed! Is there something else going on that is more important ? car payments ? Pool payments ? I don’t get it.
And yet, after stats like these (And ads like these) the state still puts up barriers that try to prevent me from keeping my kid home and schooling there. It’s like they are mad that I took my kid out of school because there is a risk of her dying there. It’s like sending your kids to the coalmine.
And yet everyone gets all bent out of shape because they believe I’m harming her by keeping her home, “where she can’t develop important social skills” like bullying, shoving, swearing, ruining people’s lives with unchecked sociopathic zeal and dressing in an echo chamber of sluttiness and promiscuity.
And yet, I’m the bad guy.
There are still transcripts from NBC news where they reported the shooter used only handguns (4 of them) and that an AR15 was found in the trunk. It’s pretty hard for that to be a mistake. Either way I will reevaluate my opinion if I see a credible image of lanza in the school with an AR15.
So lets see it. Prove me wrong.
This report can still easily be found and references to the video identification system the principle had installed.

It's like something is being covered up. (because it is).
I would be satisfied with one pic as he approached the door carrying an AR15. I think it's pretty clear we have never seen any pictures of him at the school because they lied about the murder weapon. He used handguns just as was correctly reported by the major networks several times shortly after the event. It wasn't until the fast and furious response team was dispatched when the murder weapon changed to an AR15.
The cover up IMO is because the obama admin does not want to get caught using the horrible murder of these children to push their gun control agenda. They would hounded out of this country even today.
I'm willing to be proven wrong here but I don't think it's going to happen. You can't produce evidence of something that never happened.
We don’t want our children killed either... if I had a magic wand and was able to wave it and destroy every weapon in the world - I would wave it.
But that’s not an option.
So the question on the table is what will work... kand what won’t work.
I do NOT believe for a second that taking guns away from law biding citizens will have any effect on criminals or killers whatsoever. I lived in a time when gun club members at my school brought their guns to school and put them in their lockers. Yep - and NO ONE thought any fellow student would take their gun out of their lockers and shoot the rest of us.
There’s been a culture breakdown... and that’s what needs to be fixed. Or this will keep getting worse.
I think this is at the new school. The old school where the event happened was demolished after the event.
From what I remember, since so much has been scrubbed, there were no working cameras at the original school the day the event happened.
So I am correct. There has never been any picture of lanza in the school released to the public. The school had a new very high tech security system installed. The story that this system was offline is simply not credible. I am sure there are or were many pictures and footage of lanza at the scene but those were buried because they show the truth. Even if you believe the security system was not working (absolutely not credible) there would have positively been crime scene photos showing lanza and the AR15. We have seen crime scene pictures of the Las vegas event and others. It was freely admited lanza killed himself with a handgun ( of course he did because he did not have a rifle) but where was the AR15 in relation to the body? Nobody knows because details like that don't exist. Where are the crime scene pics showing the location of the AR15 at the scene? Nada, nothing, don't exist. The obvious answer is the murder weapons were handguns as reported by all the media after the event. The use of the bushmaster AR15 in my opinion was a lie from the beginning. It was a lie set up to create public support for gun control bans on AR15s. Yes I have seen pictures of .223 shell casings. Those prove nothing. easily planted at the scene to be photographed. Where are the crime scene pictures of the Bushmaster AR15 at the scene?
What I did not say originally is that I have researched this event extensively. I have probably seen most everything that has been released and my opinion and theory about this event absolutely holds true. In my opinion there is no video and no pictures because he never used an AR15. I can not tell you what was the origin of the Bushmaster AR15 but in my opinion (backed by nearly every fact about this case) it was not the murder weapon. The Bushmaster AR was either never in the school or it was an outright plant.
If you think this sounds far fetched just look at what we know about fast and furious and other obama administration corruption concerning gun control. The obama admin, eric holder and the BATFE, illegally transferred guns from American gun dealers for the soul purpose of fabricating crime scenes to be blamed on America's 2nd amendment. One federal agent and untold number of mexican citizens were KILLED by these weapons directly supplied by the obama administration. Government officials corrupt enough to commit crimes like fast and furious would certainly be willing to plant a rifle at the scene of a mass murder to further their agenda.
I'm still willing to change my opinion if presented evidence I'm wrong. It's not going to happen but I'm willing to listen.
So let me get this straight. The authorities planted .223 shells on the scene and took pictures of them, but they didn't plant an AR-15 because why?

Just one possible explanation. There are others. .223 crime scene photos are everywhere. I need to see the bushmaster at the scene. Also the trace info linking the weapon to lanzas mother. The public has seen far far more of the las vegas crime scene and that has been less than transparent to say the least.
I’ve seen that picture many times. You need to read more carefully. I said there are no pictures, video footage or otherwise of lanza at the school with an AR15. Im not sure what you think that picture proves about the actual murder weapon. If you want to research this event to see if there is anything that can confirm lanza used the Bushmaster AR15 then by all means go at it. I will look at whatever you come up with but if you think you can search the internet for a few minutes or even a few hours and find something I have not seen, just save your effort. You may have missed that I have researched this event extensively.
