Aaron Carter's arsenal isn't going to be taken from him ... at least not yet, but that could change if authorities decide he's mentally unfit to own firearms.
Carter has been erratic lately ... friends and family have been so worried they've called police to do welfare checks.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... until a court, board, commission, judge or other lawful authority determines Aaron suffers from a mental illness or condition that causes him to be a danger to himself or others, he can keep his guns.
If this were to happen, we're told Carter would possibly be asked to voluntarily hand over his weapons first, but then if he failed to comply ... ATF could seize his collection.
That said, the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells TMZ the Dept. is investigating the entire matter and dealing with Aaron's family members who have expressed concern and even alarm.
Aaron spoke with TMZ Monday, telling us cops responded to a call Sunday night and showed up at his home with the intent of taking him away on a 5150 psychiatric hold.
The singer says he warned deputies he had loaded weapons scattered around his home, but he also convinced them and a mental evaluator he was not a danger to himself or others.
He also claims he doesn't know who sent the authorities to his house, but one thing he's clear about -- he's not going to give up his guns because he says he fears for his safety.
Aaron's been adamant with us recently that he's mentally stable, despite going on "The Doctors" and rattling off that he's been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. When he spoke to us Monday, he refuted that and claimed he's passed all the mental health checks to own a gun.
So, for now ... he remains locked and loaded.
I looked him up and found out through photos that he is a skinny white boy was pasty complexion, skanky blond hair, metal through a nostril, skeevy neck and arm tattoos, with an admitted mania/depression situation. I guess it wouldn’t be the end of too many worlds if he just went ahead and used one of his firearms to end his misery.
Chris Carter’s white brother?
CA has a special little used law as discussed in this update
https://www.tmz.com/2019/09/17/aaron-carter-guns-seized-restraining-order-mental-illness/
So, they are going to take his guns so he cant shoot himself. I assume all other forms on suicide are approved?
= = =
So after they take all one’s guns, all that is left is suicide by cop.
Irony.
Ah! Aaron stroked to the North and South.
He threatened to kill his pregnant sister in law.
He threatened to kill his pregnant sister in law. So, his brother took action via restraining order.
He is now saying it was his late sister that was actually bipolar (not him) and she raped him when he was 10-13 y/o.
“It runs in the family. I never wanted to tell anyone this. But I have too ” Aaron began in a series of tweets. “My sister Leslie suffered from bipolar and took lithium to treat it. She never liked the way it made her feel and when she was off of it she did things that she never meant to do I truly believe that. I was 10 years old....”
He continued: “My sister raped me from the age of 10 to 13 years old when she wasnt on her medications and I was absused [sic] not only sexually by her but by my first two back up dancers when I was 8 years old. And my brother absused [sic] me my whole life
Now its nicks turn to tell the tell the truth of what he did to one of the girls in my family. Since my truth is all out there and I hope all survivors of assault or rape find peace and justice,” Aaron tweeted.
Well, he did beat Shaq in a game of one-on-one.
OK, so I’ll modify my comment.
So, they are going to take his guns so he cant shoot his sister-in-law. I assume all other forms of murder are approved?
You can’t stop desire/intent, or ability. The only thing a victim can control is opportunity. In this case, taking his guns is just a show, he should be confined, if they actually believe his threats are valid, so as to prevent the opportunity to act. It is real easy to take away an inanimate object, “Just to be safe.” Its a little different when you actually have to support your decision.
This is really sad. I can still hear him singing I Want Candy. He was a little heartthrob boy 20 some years ago.
And this is exactly who should not have weapons. Paranoid bipolar schizophrenics are more hurt by the 2nd amendment than freed.
I dont know maybe ch about him, nor normally follow H-Wood gossip. But, once I googled him, a lot of info came up.
Omg I did not know he was a victim of multi-sex abuse. This happened when he was still a child singing star. How horrible. I feel very badly for him. Still dont think he should have guns.
Sorry, auto correct did a doozy.
I dont know much about him is what it should have read.
Apparently hes walking back his claim of being bi-polar. He turned in his firearms tho.
What a terrible mess thats been going on with him and family tho.
Has he actually turned them in or did he just say he would in one of his sane moments?
I watch Eastenders on Britbox..for you Brits..I think they are trying to show some kind of version of living life with Schizophrenia with Bobby
A traumatic incident can bring on full schizophrenia. So perhaps child abuse if true could have resulted in the many issues of Aaron Carter
i read Aaron turned in 2 firearms.
I think this is Kabuki Theater being played out. Somebody put him up to this in order to make the case for the Gun Grabbers.
