New York is set to become the second state in the United States to ban flavored e-cigarettes after Gov. Andrew Cuomo used executive power to outlaw the sale of the products amid rising concern over its health effects and youth vaping.
The Democratic governor announced an “emergency executive action” to ban all flavored e-cigarettes besides tobacco and menthol, and said he was worried the products were causing a nicotine addiction among young people. “Manufacturers of fruit and candy-flavored e-cigarettes are intentionally and recklessly targeting young people, and today we’re taking action to put an end to it ,” he announced at a press conference in Manhattan on the morning of Sept. 15.

why are they being banned? Have investigations proved they are causing deaths? Last i looked- it was THC vaping products off the ‘black market’ that were causing deaths and sicknesses in many cases- but it’s not known if it is from the THC or from other things in the juices- It’s premature to be blaming anything at this point- there is nothing illegal about flavored juices- and no direct link to deaths-

But there are enough socialists even here on Free Republic to signal their virtue by supporting such a ban anyway.
Which is the real elephant in the room. They are refusing to hardly mention the “marijauna factor” with these illnesses, which modified the usage of the ecig. The boy who is suing Juul has admitted he used THC in the vape pen. These kids have grown up being told that marijauna is not harmful, why wouldn’t they think it perfectly ok to add it to vape juice? The legalize drugs crowd are really the ones responsible.

Menthol cigs. are flavored, I believe. They’ve been around forever.
The banning seems to be a reaction to some folks coming down with serious health issues, and they were heavy vape-users.
Maybe if you gave the PhD guys a year...they’d go and examine the flavor business and conclude that vape manufacturing isn’t 100-percent sanitary, and some kind of bacteria has survived the process, and triggering the major health issues. But right now....they are doing this without much of a factual database. They just know some serious health issues have arisen, and they should not have occurred.
Yet they will say regular cigarettes are okay....

eciggs have been aroudn for 20 years- it’s only this year that any kinds of problems have cropped up- for 19 years or so nothing of significance had happened- apparently- so it’s premature to ban all flavors sicne we know that only certain products have caused the problems-
