Without the satire notice, is there anyone here who would have questioned the veracity of this story?

Lacked historical content, much like a picture of Adolf Hitler?

"Morally right but factually a mass murderer" This article is hilarious - the Babylon Bee gets me every time !! And judging from the comments here, I'm guessing that quite a few people didn't get that it was satire - probably because it sounds like something the NY Times would really do !

The banner has been replaced with a large mural of Joseph Stalin. Snort!, LOL

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

Paper executives considered adding some historical context to the banner, like writing "Morally right but factually a mass murderer" to the bottom but eventually decided to just take it down so as not to obscure the facts above and beyond the paper's usual fact obscuring threshold.LOL - close enough it could be real... New York Times sucks.

And here the Onion went out of business because lunacy was so widespread, no one could tell the differnce any more. Babylon Bee has picked up where they left off and is doing a great job! They secret is that they don’t mind if people can’t tell if it’s a real story or not their sarcasm doesn’t have to be obvious.
