I keep getting a call that says press '1' to talk to an Amazon rep. I've got phone blocking but haven't yet blocked this same number, 800-300-8009. I'm really tempted to answer and press '1'. Anybody else getting this possible scam? I don't think I can reveal too much of anything just by pressing '1'.
I mean nearly once a day. Sorry for the vanity:<(((
Pressing one will connect you to someone in the third world who will ask for some form of personal identification. It is a scam.

Always look the number up online by typing something like “800-300-8009 Scam”
Many times it will prove to be a scam-
doh- looksl ike many already said that- disregard my post- sorry-

Yes, but they are such nice people, sure, they get a little testy- demanding i give them my bank account number, but hey- they are probably just a little tired an irritable- so i gives them the number to help calm them down- and i often times offer to make them cosigners on my account just to cement the friendship
Given what you know about Amazon, what makes you think anyone from there would EVER call someone over the phone??? Lol.
Why would Amazon call? “talk to an Amazon rep?” What kind of rep? I would not answer or reply.
all you have to do for any questionable number, is search for it on the internet; example:
https://www.google.com/search?q=800-300-8009

Youll be revealing a lot. Youll be telling them that your phone was answered by a live person. And that would probably put you on even more scammer lists. Same goes when they say press 5 (or whatever) to be removed from our calling list.
Its best to just hang up. Or you could just talk to them in an obscure foreign language. Thats what I do.
LOL, I should try Klingon next time.
Yet another Indian scam. The FCC and FTC should block all inbound and robocalls originating from India. India is the new Nigeria when it comes to scams. It can trace IP headers and the origination point.
“Amazon hunts these people and tries to shut them down... It’s bad for their business.”
YOU help Bezos eliminate whats bad for his “business”. Personally, I hope his global cadre DESTROY the business of this elite leftist globalist emperor.

I literally BEG them to take my credit card number....I say I want to buy what they are selling and I have my credit card out and am ready to read them the number. Amazingly, they hang up on me rather than take my (fake) number. Seems if you deviate from their script even one bit, they just hang up. Amazing.
If I receive a recorded call, I hang up immediately. I don't talk to recordings.
There is no risk of being caught up in a scam if you don't play their games.
