Fl has allowed hunting for longer which has ‘helped’ to deter some of the big ones. Alabama has produced large gators because they haven’t had hunting as long.

I live on the GA/AL border. Like the locals say, there isn’t one swamp or body of water of any consequence in either state that doesn’t have at least a few gators in it around here. They’ve found strays in the ‘Hooch as far north as Atlanta before. And Eufala, if you’ve ever seen it, looks like a vacation resort for them. Perfect environment. Me, I’m more worried about the damn snakes.
