An image of a man standing on a plane as his supposed wife reclines across three seats has provoked outrage online.
A tweet shared on Thursday by Courtney Lee Johnson, a life coach from Indiana, claimed that an unidentified man had stood in the aisle of the cabin while his wife slept for a full six hours during a long-haul flight.
The scenario has drawn heated criticism from social media users who say the man is 'whipped' and the woman is 'selfish' - while some are questioning the validity of the tweet altogether.

I wouldnt unless it involved illness.
I change my seats at the last minute once on board to try to get ones that will let me lay down. Usually works but not always if flight crowded
Yes, if my wife were tired. Whatever happened to chivalry?
So shocking to see a man who loves his wife these days?
How incredibly selfish of the perpetually outraged class to find offense.
Well, he IS carrying a purse, so....
Maybe there was a horse taking up other seats.
How can a person tell the man was standing for six hours unless the Twitster posted six hours of video? Just saying it doesn’t make it so.
LOL - best possible reply!
You win the Internet for the day!
Far as I'm concerned, there's a good man. He knew what his wife needed and he helped meet her needs.
As much as I sometimes rip on marriage and say I'll never do it again, sometimes it really is about sacrificing for one another. That doesn't mean one's "whipped" it means one loves their wife (or husband) enough to help them get what they need. Sometimes that means sacrificing one's own physical comfort and other times it means giving in on an argument and apologizing to restore peace in the relationship.
Far as I'm concerned, God bless this man.
Go ahead and rip away.
LOLOL..
that story still irks me.
I wish I could've said it this well. Spot-On.
Why didnt she just put her head in his lap?...she could have even had a pillow.
There is more to this picture, I bet
Everyone has an opinion, but only those two people know what’s going on. She may have just had surgery, or have just miscarried, or have some chronic neurological disease. We often mock men in this country, but I’ve seen several sacrifice much more than this for their loved ones.
You, sir, are a gentleman.
Considering I’d give my life to save my wife’s...standing a few hours is child’s play.
Well played, sir!
Well Played.
And I'll bet he didn't even get any when they got home.
If would stand for my wife. She would for me,Unless she was very I’ll, she would not allow it.
Fixed that.
Back in the 70’s I went to Acapulco with a buddy of mine. Fortunately the flight home wasn’t very crowded and I got to lay down on three seats since I was so hung over........LOL!
Here is a different twist. My wife has back issues ane it is painful to sit. At work she has standing desk and will stand all day. Perhaps this man has a bad back and rather stand during flight.
