“Aging is cruel”

I think it’s great she didn’t get all botoxed up, just kept her natural look, and let her inner beauty shine through.

It’s Johnny-come-lately and most here are probably too young to know. He wasn’t “comedic” until “Airplane!” As an old guy.

OTOH I always loved old movies before my time. If I was going to tag Leslie Nielsen, it would be as...

TAMMY’s Bachelor!

RIP

In looking over the cast, I was surprised to discover the movie featured one of Leslie Nielsen’s non-comedic roles, as the captain.

And surely, you're not serious.

Yeah. She was holding his dead body and saying she didn’t want to go on.

RIP Mrs. Lynly I will never forget you.

I will never forget her in the movie The Poseidon Adventure but there was another movie that her talent left an impression on me as a child. The movie was The Shuttered Room of 1969 with another great actor Oliver Reed and Gig Young. About a room whose door should never be open.

Interesting footnote: Dawn Wells (reportedly) became close friends with Natalie Schaefer during the filming of the show. Ms Schaefer was a savvy investor and accumulated a small fortune. At the end of Ms Schaefer’s life, as she battled cancer, Dawn Wells became her primary care giver. In her will, Schaefer left $1 million to an actors retirement home in New Jersey and the rest to Wells. Then, in 2018, Ms Wells launched a Go Fund Me for herself to help pay off medical and tax bills. Guess she didn’t do a very good job hanging onto the money left to her by Ms. Schaefer: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/1680783002

“Mary Ann was my favorite.”
Saw her a few years ago on a ME TV commercial. She doesn’t look too bad for her age.

End of life is cruel. If you manage to make it to old age you are at risk of many debilitating old age diseases like Alzheimer’s/dimentia.

IMHO, when Leslie Nielsen discovered comedy he must have said, “where has this been all my life?” and had a ball doing comic roles ever afterward. His Frank Drebin was priceless.

His handheld whoopee cushion alone guaranteed immortality. It cracked up anyone he used it on. He is missed.
