I’ve been attacked by a rooster. They can rear their heads back and peck devastatingly - he got me in the knee, put a nice divot in my scalp, and barely missed poking an eye out. Both ends can be dangerous.
Hopefully he made a delicious dinner.
Yeah, when they go on the attack they are going to come at you with both ends.
Anything else is just trying to scare you away.
When my mom was a little girl at her grandparents farm, a rooster jumped up on her shoulder and started pecking at her face. Her grandfather grabbed the bird and wrung it’s head off on the spot, leaving it flapping and bleeding headless in the dirt. My mother was so traumatized by the whole thing she’s had a phobia of birds for the following 70-some years.
