Kroger, the United States largest supermarket chain, announced a corporate decision Tuesday about customers who choose to open carry in their stores dont do it unless you are a law enforcement officer. This announcement follows on the heels of Walmarts decision to ask the same of its customers where the law allows guns to be openly carried.

It’s gotten to the point where if you use your finger like a gun and point it at someone even as an acknowledgement you can be arrested for intimidation.

I get away with a lot here in Alberta, but then again it’s Alberta. It’s normal to see people carrying rifles and such.
When will these companies have metal detectors for everyone entering the stores...like airports?

If there is a “no open carry” sign, we let the manager know that we won’t be shopping there, and, will let our friends know.
In Texas hasn’t it been legal to open carry for only about 2 years?

Can walmart and kroegers be sued for failing to allow self protection inside their stores?
I live in Southwest Virginia, I see people open-carrying in Walmart every day. In Virginia, they will have to put warning signs on the doors to make it enforceable.
It will take one shooting in one of these places where a CC holder is shot and NOT able to protect him/herself then let the law suits begin!!! This IS IDIOTIC no one around to protect the shooter who of course will obey the rules / s!!! GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK!!!

I'm not sure that this is a wise policy for Walmart or Kroger but they are well within their rights to set it. Someone who wants a gun in these stores can just put it in a pocket or purse.
Unprotected and disarmed citizens have been slaughtered in schools, malls, bars, and government courthouses, among other locations, for decades now. Why would you think anyone is going to be held accountable or liable going forward?
