People who proudly don body ink and have visible tattoos are more likely to act on impulse and make actions in haste, according to a new study. It also discovered that, as a result of these poorly thought through snap decisions, they are likely to not consider the full scope of their actions. The study was conducted by economists and was done on more than 1,000 people...Tattoos have their origins in the ne'er-do-wells of society, with the authors noting body art 'largely reserved for criminals, sailors and circus freaks'.

No I will not forget, it moved and inspired me in so many ways. Just as I have my Compostella with stamps hanging in my living room, I want something to carry with me to commemorate that life changing event and commitment to my faith. During my pilgrimage I wore a St James medallion that I had blessed prior to starting my pilgrimage.

The Amorites cut their flesh when a relative died. The etchings (referred to as printing or writing in some late translations) made by punctures in the skin were practiced by several other idolatrous nations.

And, most all "kids" will do whatever necessary to "fit in." When I was a kid, to fit in with the "cool kids", I hadda have long hair, bell bottom jeans, and walk around barefoot.

When I grew some functioning IQ points, I cut my hair and bought some shoes. And I traded the bell bottoms for khakis.

I am so, so thankful that body disfigurement was not a part of our "code" back then.

I knew a sailor who had served in WW2. He had numerous tats up and down his arms.

I knew him later in his life and he deeply regretted that mistake. He wanted them off but at the time, the only solution was surgical removal at $100 per square inch. He couldn't afford it and the tattoos turned into ugly black blobs as his skin continued to lose its elasticity.

Your right. Peer pressure and all that kind of thing. But a tattoo is not like a haircut that will grow in. There is probably a big business opportunity in tattoo removal in the future.

I saw a young woman with a bar code tattooed on the back of her neck. I didn’t know whether to be amused or concerned that this may be awaiting all of us in the future.
