A Camino De Santiago tattoo would be celebration of my pilgrimage to honor St. James and indulgences I was granted that year for the pilgrimage.

Would you elaborate on what these were?

I would be happy to elaborate.

“....To gain a plenary indulgence during this Holy Year of Mercy, the following is necessary: Have an interior disposition of detachment from all sin, go to confession, receive holy Communion, pray for the Holy Father’s intentions and make a pilgrimage to a basilica or another designated place, such as a cathedral....Receiving an indulgence is really about receiving God’s mercy and love, which is what this Holy Year of Mercy is all about!....”

During the Holy Year of Mercy, I entered 4 different cathedrals through their special doors on my trip across Spain. I completed all of the various other requirements.

It made the pilgrimage even more of a religious event for me.

In the year 2021, the Holly door at the cathedral in Santiago will open again to all pilgrims.
