As I understand the article, Pellegrino was falsely arrested, charged and prosecuted. The TSA deserved a smackdown for this. However, I don't see this as a case which is going to limit abusiveness or rudeness from the TSA in general.

I live just outside Philly.
Most TSA are grumpy Black chicks, half with Islamic head gear.
I have never left or landed in Philly on time.

Flying out of Paine Field with 2 knee replacements, I was taken into a back room for a more "invasive" patdown after the 1st patdown didn't satisfy them. Maybe because I suggested they use a wand scanner around my knees. I was in tears but afraid to say anything else even as the TSA lady put her hand down the crack of my behind as she had me bent over spread eagled. They even swabbed the bottom of my feet checking for trace of chemicals.

Finally decided that I wasn't a threat and let me board the plane. Been hesitant to file a written complaint in fear being "red flagged" for future flights. This is just not right.

“”I am sympathetic to the concern that the current legal regime provides no obvious remedy” to people like Pellegrino, but expanding the immunity waiver “lies beyond our purview,” she wrote.”

Government is supposed to be for the people, not above the people. I think this is a good decision.

By their hiring standards and their level of training, the TSA are pretty much mall cops.

In times of conflict, the job of searching ships, trains, and aircraft coming into the U.S. used to fall to the Coast Guard. It still should.

That way if there is anything untoward which happens the Officer in charge is responsible and as all of personnel are subject to the UCMJ the matter will tend to not get out of hand and be dealt with harshly.

FTA: "Their professionalism is commensurate with the seriousness of their role in keeping our skies safe."

Snort!

This statement tells you all you need to know about judges, as .gov employees.

I haven’t flown since 2005 and this is why. I drive everywhere now.

The TSA is proof that the terrorists have won “The War on Terrorism”.

The Philadelphia airport TSA has “upity” anti-white blacks. Worst TSA agents I’ve encountered. DC black TSA personnel at both airports are normal and considerate humans.
