The enviros are going to go ballistic over this.

What does sea lion steak taste like?
To: jazusamo
Yet the enviros will let a few swimmers get eaten by Great Whites off Cape Cod every summer and leave the seals alone.
Not that killing 1100 seals on the Cape would solve anything anyway.

By the way, if you’ve ever had to deal with the sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf in SF they’re nasty, stinky animals.

“But sea lions have learned that fish bunch up at dams and are easy to catch, an opportunity not available when the Columbia was free-flowing.”
BS. I’ve seen hundreds of them lieing on the beach at the mouth of Redwood Creek resting between slauters of salmon coming in. No dams there.

I would hope they wouldn’t waste the fur/hides or meat.
They should sell tags and let people hunt them.

They keep wondering why the Puget Sound orca whale pods are slowly starving to death.
Whatever could it be?

Start shooting. I think you’ll see a lot of them vanish from the area. And shoot the California Sea Loons first. All of them are males, and the population won’t notice a difference.

A while back I had a client that was employed with the state to determine why the salmon population was getting smaller coming up the Sacramento river.
I asked her if she considered the gauntlet of sea lions in the bay as a reason.
She gave me that "WTF are you talking about" stare before changig the subject.

More than 1,100 sea lions could be killed annually
Once upon a time commercial fishermen did it for free. But the sea lions were elevated to animal sainthood and the commercial fishermen were consigned to Hell.
