Elizabeth Smart is "grateful" for her brutal kidnapping as a 14-year-old, the victims' rights advocate revealed in a lengthy Instagram post.

Now 31, Smart reflected on her nine-month ordeal at the hands of Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee nearly two decades ago.

"I never thought I would say that I'm grateful for what happened to me as a 14 year old girl but I can honestly say that I'm not sorry it happened to me because of what it has allowed me to do, the people I've been able to meet, and the cause that has become and driven such a large part of my life," she wrote.

~snip~

Earlier this month, Elizabeth's father, Ed Smart, came out as gay in an now-deleted Facebook post.

Well leave it to MSNBC to sensationalize what she said in their headline.

[[Most Christians (I know she is Mormon) would agree that through trials, their faith has been formed.]]

Exactly- Joni Erickson- the paraplegic- had a horribly painful tough life- and DESPITE it all, she grew close to God- She basically stated that she is not thnakful for the accident, BUT is thankful for what it did for her relationship with God and for beign able to go through doors that woudl never have been opened for her otherwise-

She struggled for many years thinking it was unfair- but God showed her He still loved her despite her circumstances

She has helped a great many people coping with life’s troubles and wondering why ‘God could be so unfair’ just by being an example of an overcomer who chose to love God despite her terrible circumstances-

It’s not easy speaking words of thankfulness in a world full of hurt- but it is possible, and will draw us closer to God IF we don’t give up in despair-

It’s not PC to say but this is why a great portion of women (mostly liberal) should not vote or have any control over other other people. Her comment was just pure insane.

“I think it preconditions people to accept brainwashing, e.g. makes them highly susceptible to accepting false narratives. Because I suspect she did not arrive at this idea without “help” from others.”

I suspect you are correct

“Forgive me...but I’m starting to wonder if she was really kidnapped at all.”

Others have wondered that too

“Maybe she knew about daddy way back when.”

With daddy coming out it gives more light to everyone who wondered, like you was she really kidnapped at all.

I was sketchy on this whole “maybe she was not kidnapped but maybe she went willingly” conspiracy but after she said this I’m like you and now wondering too.

Her dad went homo, and she is grateful for a kidnapping and months like rape session.

Got it...

What say you about her daddy’s brain? The whole family is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

“She doesn’t have to live like a refugee.”

Why would you think she is? She isn’t! She’s making the best of a bad thing she had no control over.

I think she means that the experience has led her to help others and for that she is grateful.

the female brain...just...i dunno.

Over 50% of women have diagnosable mental illness by middle age. About twice as much as males.

She doesn’t live like a refugee. She has mentally triumphed over her ordeal, and in so doing, she has conquered and to some extent eliminated it.

When I learned that my abuser had died, I felt sad for his family. Some days later, in a retrospective moment, I privately congratulated myself for having moved so far beyond petty anger.

I just didn’t really care anymore, and saw things for what they were.

Combat OIF: check.

Abuse as a child: check.

“Insanity Moments” check.

Doing bad, bad things way back when: check.

Dollars spent on psychiatrists: $0.

Smiles, cuddling, love-making, raising a family, lifting charities, helping to elect Republicans...

Check,

Check,

Check,

Check...

"I've had the opportunity to speak to and interact with the Georgia Sheriff's Association on the Sex Offender Registry and the Federal Probation and Pretrial Officer Association," Smart added. "I know there is no perfect piece of legislation or protocol that makes surviving rape and sexual violence easy on any level but I must say I am so grateful for people who keep coming back everyday doing their best to help protect and prevent future crimes from happening."

Sounds more like a rational, adult mind frame - God opens doors so some good can come from every bad...for those with the fortitude and faith to walk through those doors...

I really despise a cucked mindset. Someone undoubtedly filled her head with this BS. Mormons are kings of this sort of thinking.
