Or Mitt Romney Dog Park.
Well, what did the park people expect when they printed the signs in people-ish instead of retriever-ish?? What are they, some kid of speciesists or something?
This gated community, with million+ dollar homes all voted FOR the dog park and said OK to the $134K it was going to cost to build. Now that it’s there and being used, a handful of non-dog owners want the dogs to stop barking because it’s ‘ruining property values.’
Here’s the thing, they didn’t ALL vote FOR it, or FOR the spending and now some of those who voted agin it are making a stink about it.
Kind of like Hillary Voters and anything that Trump does.
“I enjoy the chaos of dog parks.”
Same here. It’s fun to watch a bunch of carefree dogs running around, playing, sniffing everything and just having a good time.
But no squeaky toys!
My “next door” neighbor (lots are very large). He has always had outside barkers. We swear they are in Witness Protection. Why else would you always have a large outside barker? The deer and bear keep him up all night.
“Has the Left ever came up with anything that was not Trumps fault?”
No...and it’s Trump’s fault that they haven’t
Open invitation to homos in the area.
Didn't have to read any further. My 401(k) has been going up 20% each year since Trump took office!
That community made sensible rules for the park that would minimize any disruption, BUT the problem is and always is with neurotic suburban dog owners the dog owners don’t follow the rules.
They bring the dogs into the park after hours, for just one instance, when the majority of residents in that area have to get up early to work with the horrible hours and commutes around DC, and they are trying to sleep after 9 pm.
Dog-adoring offenders usually make no attempt to control their animals and are often outright hostile when their dog has crapped on someone’s flowers or has even bitten a neighbor with whom they have no prior acquaintancespeaking from experience here, and I live in a so-called HOA with expensive dues.
If the dog issues in my community are any example, ALL the dog problems are due to a few owners’ lack of discipline and their sense of entitlement (their dogs are more important than all the work and money you put into your property), and their callous attitude to neighbors. Cannot tell you how many expensive and carefully tended plants have been ruined from poop and pee in my gardens by tresspassing dogs let to roam on retractable leashes, when the HOA-supported grass area for dog elimination is a mere 38 inches away from the private lawns on the other side of the sidewalk.
My next-door neighbor with a toddler has found piles of dog poop on their front step and front walk, even though we pay those high dollar dues to live with by-laws. It’s disgusting.
Yes, when it was all Bush's fault......LOL!
This!
And these people should not bother getting dogs. They likely don’t appreciate dogs for being dogs, for the wonderful things they can do, for the joy they bring.
“Ah. A Steelers fan.”
And for that reason, I’m out! lol
Thank you. I just assumed based on the million dollar-plus homes.
However, the folks that live there ALL gave their OK for the dog park, authorized the $134K for it to be built from their town coffers and now it’s, ‘NDPIMBY’ (No Dog Park In My Back Yard)
Said she who is in charge of 14 dogs*, 2 cats and a mule, LOL!
*Two indoor ‘pet’ dogs; the rest are hunting dogs we raise & train for fun and no profit. ;)
As the owner of a mini doxie, I can attest, they will bark at ANYTHING, real or perceived. Ours is old, part deaf and part blind, but he still labors under the illusion that he is a big bad character. We could never take him to a dog park -— he’d charge at a dog many times his size, and probably get turned inside out. They’re very sweet, loyal, and stubborn dogs, but ours, at least, has gotten very cranky in his old age. He’s living on borrowed time, but my husband loves him desperately, and I know full well, he’ll want another one when this one’s gone.
Good one. Took me a minute to get it, but I did.
