Why Does TSA Make Most U.S. Flyers Remove Their Shoes?

Because the lower worlds within America the Beautiful unwittingly mirror the spiritual realities of the heavens:

Airports are the gateways though which everyone must pass in order to ascend, go up.

Exodus 3:4-5 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bUSh, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

That place was the *spot* (the point, pintele Yid) where Moses wanted to take a closer look-see.

People take their shoes off when they come home. Going up to the heavens as it were. Simple concepts, as reflected in the EL Al slogan:

Company slogan

It's not just an airline. It's Israel.

הכי בבית בעולם

Literally: "The most at home in the world"
Casually: "Your home in the sky"
El Al translation: "Home Away From Home"

***

Welcome home, where you can take your shoes off finally, and relax. El Al's premium lounge is called the King David Lounge.

The way I see it, if you're gonna build a temple into a lounge, why not do it with some style?

“Why does Europe pre-pressurize luggage? Because a bomb got through that way once.”

If a system can’t detect significant amounts of explosive material, a big boom is possible.

A 1960’s era SAM-2 missile made John McCain’s life miserable. The Israelis can’t stop Palestinians in Gaza from making rockets.

I was in Fairbanks Alaska Monday night being scanned by TSA. My laptop bag was flagged for sensor checking.

I keep all my snacks in the side zippered pouch, protein bars, almonds, cashews and a small package of prunes. As she was scanning the prunes I asked her what she was looking gor.

“Explosives” she replied.

My response, “That doesn’t happen until you eat the prunes!”

She lost it and was still laughing for the next in line.

They just like to control and dominate you. Will keep getting more oppressive, absolutely no movement towards more liberty here.

2013, Richard Reid tried to use a somewhat bomb he incorporated in to a shoe on a flight. it failed to explode but since then our TSA has made everyone take off their shoes.
Oh yeah, they let slide folks in hajibs and burka’s but feel up old grandmas.

“lines of people”

Any large & dense gathering of Americans presents a security issue.

Why?
Simple... Would you want to stand near a moslem when it is not wearing shoes? If it doesn't even use toilet paper, why make the problem even worse?

“I got padded down”

Which implies the security system is defective.

” would hope the cockpit crew never opens the cockpit door because a pretty stewardess has a homemade knife to her throat.”

The PLFP tried that years ago on a EL-AL flight in the early days of hijacking. The pilot employed an ad-hoc anti-terrorist device. A barrel roll.

The TSA are incompetent and abusive, IMO. They can’t even keep their procedures straight. One guy tells me I don’t have to remove my belt. Another tells me to remove it and carry it. The third sends me back to send it through the x-ray with my luggage. Nothing like giving a bunch of minimum wage bozos any authority.

Actually the pressurizing is to set off bombs that use that as a trigger. But do it somewhere harmless. Unless your luggage was in there too.

Well Israel can. But it would be considered an act of war.

Thank god idiots like the Shoe Bomber are...idiots and we get lucky. If he was more careful, the plane he would be on would be downed very easily.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I remember when commercial flying was a pleasure, and the United States beat the sh!t out of its enemies instead of coddling them.

I just pray a bomber never hides C4 up his rectum.

Too late.

On 27 August 2009 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia a suicide bomber tried to assassinate the Prince by detonating a bomb that he had concealed in his rectal cavity. The Prince survived. Needless to say the bomber gave new meaning to the phrase "blow it out your butt."

I seem to remember another too, where a burka babe had some in her rectum and her hoo-ha too.

“the story was written by an idiot. if he doesn’t understand why shoes are a security issue, then it needed to be restated. I was simply trying to educate you.”

I don’t think the guy who wrote the piece was asking why TSA makes us remove our shoes. I think he was answering the question posed by a lot of travelers (”Why do we have to take off our shoes for airport security?”). I read the article he posted at his website, and his bio at the end reads:

“Kelly Hoggan, Founder and CEO of H4 Solutions, previously served as assistant administrator for operations at the Transportation Security Administration. In that role, he was responsible for aircraft and checkpoint security operations at the nation’s 400-plus commercial airports.”

So he was a TSA bigwig (with a colored history there, judging by the stuff — good and “bad” — you can find on Google and on YouTube (there’s some testimony to Congress from him about TSA security programs)), from what I see, and all those screeners and their managers at U.S. airports answered to him, apparently.

So he knows why we’re doing the shoe dance. And why it pisses a lot of us off. ;-)

“....like many different types of sharp objects”

Admitted there are many sharp objects. But most of them show as a mass on the xray and should get some attention. So as long as they run them through the xray, at least, some of it is going to be seen. Hopefully the agents will be attentive and ask about everything.
