Im sure this post wont stay up long But as a born-again evangelical I no longer feel comfortable on this site. It has become openly and aggressively pro Catholic. Catholicism is heresy.
Thank you Jim for putting so much effort into this clearinghouse of ideas But the bombardment of papers nonsense can a longer be tolerated by me.
God bless all who proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord. God bless America
When he was first installed there were plenty.
Those of us who saw what was happening tried to warn the resident Catholics but we had nothing but insults and slander and accusations of *hater*, *anti-Catholic* hurled our way as we were given the drum beat of *He's been mistranslated, misquoted, misunderstood, misrepresented, mis(fill in the blank)...*
Now of course, FRoman Catholics are opposing him while we non-Catholics who still say we'll never submit to their pope are still slandered with the same pejoratives.
Of course, I never expected to hear a *You were right about him* from any Catholic* so I can't say I am disappointed. I didn't expect any less, or more.
Get on the RF threads.
We're called heretics all the time there.
At the speed at which he was Zotted, you’d think it would’ve gone to plaid.
Wow......
Pot meet kettle......
...and Leon's getting larger !
Baby meets bathwater.
Sheesh.
There are a lot of evangelical believers here.
What you perceive as pro-Catholic bias may be due to how religious caucus discussions are moderated.
For Catholics, there is a kind of default consensus as to major theological issues, but Protestants are more diverse. So if you were to post a thread restricted to “evangelical caucus” you might find that people differ on what that means. However, it could still be done in theory as a way to limit the discussion from theological debates.
The simpler answer to your frustrations is to avoid caucus discussions to which you do not belong. You can always re-post an article for non-caucus discussion later. I think it is not a hard rule, but often waiting a day to repost is a good idea, but I’ve seen exceptions where reposts were allowed within an hour. Depends on whether the discussion is more general interest or is simply perceived as a way to circumvent the point of caucus discussions.
You may be unlikely to change the minds of others on such matters, but you may clarify your own beliefs and the reasons behind them. You may learn to be more persuasive or have ready answers to those who are confused.
Keep in mind that FR is primarily a politically conservative forum. There is common ground between conservative Protestants, Catholics, and Jews on this forum. There might even be a few atheists, agnostics, or irreligious who are likeminded on major political issues. But the site is faith-friendly.
I encourage you to take a break when emotions get too heated but come back and contribute to the discussions and stay informed.
Our local priest asked me to leave the Catholic property in February this year.
I was using my snow blower to clear a driveway across the street from the church. When I was done, I saw the priest out shovelling the handicap spaces in his lot. Without asking for permission, I went over and started helping and he asked me to quit before I finished 20 feet. I petitioned to help him finish (he was in his 70’s) but he genuinely did not want me there and was shockingly unfriendly. I just thought I was helping a fellow Christian but apparently I was intruding.
As an ex Catholic now Protestant, I am appalled by some of the recent posts on here marked as Catholic Caucus - and the excessive number of them recently. I have always thought that we are all Christian, but apparently some Catholics who post here do not feel the same.
Wrong on both counts but if you consider Catholics being permitted to speak freely "aggressively pro Catholic", Bye.
When we see a billion people going the wrong way, we care enough to say something to try to wake you from your slumber.
If I have the time, I will post every answer I can, but I have to have a life also. I'm thinking the RCC may destroy itself with sodomy and maybe real believers will abandon a sinking ship, but many just say "My daddy was a Catholic, my granddaddy was a Catholic, and my great granddaddy was a Catholic, and by God my boy's gonna be a Catholic. The curse may last 7 generations.
LOL
Did it?
MANY MANY years ago i got the viking kitty :(
It’s a terrible feeling and I deserved it then and this dope deserves it now
If I decided i didn’t like FR anymore I just wouldn’t sign in ever again.
What’s with the dramatic (and in this case hateful) exits.
Don’t go away mad, just go away guy
I’ll ask Mary and the Saints to pray for you.
Since it’s my last chance to give you feedback, let me let you know in no uncertain terms that you’re batshit crazy and it has been extremely obvious since the moment you showed up here.
Forgive me, but your post sounds like it was written after reading one too many garbage "Chick Tracts".
Nor to Catholic Charities that cooperate with other 'charities' that do not up hold Catholic morals.
Papists are always loud and obnoxious, moreso with the knowledge that their church leaders chosen by the Holy Spirit are all queers and pedophiles. Their loudness does not indicate dominance, however.
I kind of know how you feel and I have been told to stay off the Catholic threads and I almost stayed off this one. OP you simply have to realize the Catholic Church has been under attack for even longer than the USA. We have seen the rot infiltrate the highest levels of the USA and the corruption and degeneracy that is being unveiled is even worse than the most imaginative of us had previously conceived. Give the Catholics a break. Its their church. Let them deal with it. Dont leave, there is no where out there to go. Just respect their request to stay off the Catholic threads. A Catholic told me decades ago, I know, I know, werre Trying to deal with it. If they want our help theyll ask.
Years ago, someone hacked something, somewhere, and FR was labeled a “ Jewish support group” in a Google search. I generally avoid the religion threads, but, hey, some folks gotta go all Facebook on things, I guess.
