And it’s not to say I don’t think people shouldn’t be married in front of God.
I just don’t think the punishment for not getting married that way is crashing and dying immediately after!!
I am SURE God doesn’t operate that way or I’d be dead from 500 different sins in my lifetime.
In fact, how the heck he has let me survive all of the insane things I’ve done and given me a chance to redeem myself speaks Completely against this idea of God.
God didn’t punish me.
My sins led to the inevitable suffering that was to come as a result of my choices.
God gave me a thousand warnings, actually.
I just chose to ignore Him.
ALWAYS a bad move in the long run.
Good grief!
A vow made before the Lord is a vow in His presence REGARDLESS of venue!
Abraham was not married in a Church! And he married his half-sister. Was his marriage not valid?
I just don’t get some of my ostensible brethren.
Man alive, that’s sure the truth. God doesn’t operate that way or I wouldn’t be here either. And I know some very nice people who would prob not left us so soon.
Reminds me of this
Luke 13 v1-5
13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on themdo you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
