UK's Johnson slams 'mumbo-jumbo' about vaccines after measles rates rise

“The UK generally has a great record on fighting measles, but for the first time we’re suddenly going in the wrong direction,” Johnson said on a visit to a hospital in Truro, south-west England.

“I’m afraid people have just been listening to that superstitious mumbo-jumbo on the internet, all that anti-vax stuff, and thinking that the MMR vaccine is a bad idea. That’s wrong, please get your kids vaccinated.”

Johnson added that some parents were also complacent about making sure their children receive their second doses of the MMR vaccine.

Johnson’s office said that currently just 87% of children are getting their second dose of the jab, likely contributing to the spread of the disease. The government has a target of 95% of children to get both doses of the jab.

“It’s not just the right thing for them, but also of course its the right thing for the whole population,” Johnson said

Maybe if they didn’t import people from Third World Countries, Measles wouldn’t be a problem.

Not me.

I had every vaccine available at least twice and I'm totally not retarded.

All of my kids too. At least the first dozen or so.

Who keeps records after that many?

Poor kids wouldn’t have to get so many jabs if there weren’t so many turd world diseases coming into the UK these days.

I personally would not trust Big Pharma as far as I could throw a ‘69 Buick.

And I don’t trust government about five times that much.

Put the two together and I REALLY REALLY don’t trust government vaccine mandates.

Not saying vaccines are worthless, but I’m extremely skeptical.

Rick Perry opened my eyes when he essentially took a bribe to mandate Gardisil. I bet that’s the story for 90%+ of required vaccines. Guaranteed sales on the taxpayer dime.

He’s right. The anti-vax movement has drunk way too much of the fringe science kool-aid and has reached the point where it is endangering the public health.

It would be good if a rubella vaccine that didn’t use an aborted baby for source was made available.

Would that be a Special, Skylark, LeSabre or Electra?

Exceptional choice, just as much size without the pretentiousness of the Cadillac Fleetwood.

I snickered at the anti-vax mumbo jumbo until I read a biochemical description of just where that itty bitty bit of aluminum in the shots goes and what it does to the brain. The fact is that autism was never seen by most doctors- it was less than 1 in 10k. The upswing was dramatic and tracked the percentages of those vaccinated immediately following the introduction of the aluminum in an early dipththeria vax in the 30s to the mammoth portion that it is now. Don’t ask me where the item is. I never worried about it as my own kids didn’t seem to be affected by anything like autism. I don’t remember it was a while ago and I can’t find it now. It has become apparent that three of my four would qualify as Asperger’s Syndrome, though. Two girls should have done very well in college but never finished because their focus is too narrow. The boy has done well in the army. He went in as motor pool but wound up fixing everyone’s computers when they couldn’t wait for the IT guy.

Have you seen the vaccine schedule from the CDC? Just looking at it makes me very suspicious. And giving hepatitis shots to very young children? It is absurd. The way we give vaccines is looney. And do we discount as crazy the parents who have seen behavioral changes after vaccinating their kids???
