The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to our New & Improved Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a week Ping List. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time!

It looked great, she gave a jar once to my Dad, otherwise she did not part with it. Don’t blame her.

I just love the way they used frilled cupcake liners as coasters. There's a wonderful assortment available.

Foiled ones are nice depending on your dinnerware.

All gardeners need a great breakfast before going out into the fields. With Praline Biscuits in the oven, you can rustle
up pedestrian scrambled eggs and feel like a master chef. Serving these biscuits glamorizes a plate of scrambled eggs.
CHEFS TIP Add tb sour cream to brown sugar praline, then put into muffin cups (makes a silky caramel sauce).
PRALINE MELTAWAY BISCUITS

ING 1/3 cup melted butter, 1/3 cup ea brown sugar, chp pecans 2 1/4 cups Bisquick 2/3 cup milk or Cream 2 tb granular sugar.
PRALINE Stir butter, brown sugar, pecans in small bowl; Divide among 12 sprayed regular size muffin cups.
BATTER Stir Bisquick mix, milk, sugar to soft dough . Place a spoonful of dough in muffin cups. Bake golden 425 deg 11-13 min. Turn pan upside down onto cookie sheet. Leave a few minutes to allow praline to drizzle over biscuits. Now set right side up in server---liftout topping from pan onto biscuits. Cool slightly before serving.
SERVE warm slathered with butter .
NOTE: A quicker breakfast made in 8" square baker--much easier than the cupcake pan! Just scrape out the caramel and spread on the biscuits. YUMMY!.

Ive always thought its a good idea to buy seeds and plants from a nearby location so theyd be acclimated over the generations to the same type of climate. That's a great insight I never thought about. Thank you.
Do you happen to know of any seed sellers in the north east?
To: Diana in Wisconsin
Thanks for the recommendations.
I'll order a little earlier than I have been.

Tomatoes finally ripe! They are tasty and especially good with basil, and bunching onions, which I have also grown.
