I’ll never forget what a doctor told me 40+ years ago: don’t stick anything in your ear smaller than your elbow.
Ears are far to sensitive to clean DAILY with a swab. She gave her ears no time to heal.
Don’t put anything smaller than your elbow into your ears.

She used Q-tips! See, see Q was right!
3-5 drops of hydrogen peroxide in each ear is the trick.
Yeah it fizzes a bit but dissolves the wax.
My doc says most colds and viruses enter through the ears ....
H2O2 also kills da germs too.
I believe the box of Q-Tips explicitly says “don’t use in ears”
Still, she’s just ONE example of why we have such stupid ‘warnings’ on every object possible.
I can hear the lawyer ads on TV now if you received an skull infection after using Q-tip call XXX XXX XXXX for class action case.
I had a severe ear infection few years ago. Doctor told me to NEVER USER COTTON EAR SWABS. Just use your fingers. Ear is designed to clean itself.
In case of wax build up, see a doctor, he knows how to clean it.
Been doin’ that for about 50 years. The problem is that some people can’t imagine how to do it right. They just push the ear wax into their eardrums. Duh!
The right way to do it is to put the Q-tip deep into your ear in the center of the cavity. Then begin to tun it while scraping the sides and pulling it out of the the canal, thereby removing the ear wax.
That’s why doctors/audiologists tell you never to put Q-tips in your ears: because most people are too dumb to figure this on on their own.
(No real science classes)
You have to stop the Q-tip when there’s RESISTANCE!
I clean my ears with METAL instruments, so no residue left there - glad to see I’m doing it right.
