Grady’s is very good...

There was a place on the south side of the Henley Street Bridge that a lot of the UT football players and basketball players would go to...Also you could see Archie Cambpell there quite often last Saturday or early Sunday morning as he went home from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville...

It was called Smokey Mountain Market....GREAT hot dogs!!!!

I know what you mean...The Smokey Mountain Market I mentioned above was open 24 hours a day every day...The only time they ever closed was in August, 1945 for VJ Day...

I was attending NBC Warfare School in Philadelphia in 1968 and there was a little hole-in-the-wall place on Chestnut Street that had REAL Philly Cheesesteaks.....

I have had many in many places since then, but NEVER had one as good as theirs...

Sorry to say, Archibald's ain't what it used to be. The sauce is still the best ever, but the meat tastes most like closed-pit than the delicious open pit they used to be. Don't know how they did that, as they still seem to have the same pit.

Grady’s is where there was always a waiting list and they would call on something like “Jones, Party of 7?”. So I would always use “Donner. “. ‘Donner, party of 8?”. Some people found it humorous.

Close. In a plastic tub. Sold at Albertson’s Grocery (Safeway). The big problem is it is too addictive, so I don’t dare buy it but a couple times a year!

Spent many nights at the Dixie Chicken (#6) when I was at A&M. My dorm was right across the street. Dunked my Aggie ring in a pitcher of Shiner and managed to hold the tradition of drinking it down within the allotted time of my class number in seconds (‘92). Great memories.
