Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini suggested Richard Gere fly 160 migrants stranded off the Italian coast back to Hollywood on his “private jet” after the actor made a plea to European leaders to find a port for the ship.
Gere joined representatives from the non-governmental organization Open Arms at a press conference on the Italian island of Lampedusa to appeal to take in the ship. Salvini has refused to allow the vessel into Italian waters, the latest episode highlighting Europe’s divisions over immigration.
“As the generous millionaire airs his demands about the fate of the Open Arms immigrants, we thank him: he will be able to bring everyone in his private jet to Hollywood and keep them in his villas,” Salvini said in a statement after Gere’s press conference.

I think this is a classic example of somebody who feels that because he is famous and a celebrity, that he is safe among these people. They most likely don’t know who he is except that he is not one of them. That alone puts him in danger.
On several of the crossings the Muslims killed the Christians aboard.

If Gere had any cajones (and some brains) at all, he would do this. Bring them back... and I garauntee there would be a big rallying of hollywood types to make a big photo op out of helping them too.
BTW, I’m not suggesting that Gere and other over privileged hollywood types would actually house them themselves.
Just tell Gere that they are gerbils.
Some of these people are picked up just off the coast of Africa, and then shipped hundreds of miles to Europe whilst the media portrays them as helpless..

They should pack them into his plane and march them right to Gere’s mansion.
